I like Spiegel too. The hate directed at him is over the top and undeserved. He can be annoying at times but nothing like you guys make it seem.

Yeah. He mostly knows his sports, definitely knows his music, and doesn't go on creepy racial tangents every day. He's a comfortable listen -- when he's there.

Spiegel does know sports. He has facts at his disposal and is versed on many topics related to a variety of sports. Most guys who work in sports radio probably do. And so do many people on this board. But that does not guarantee he can do a good job entertaining me on the radio. Spiegs has more sports knowledge than Mac. So what? Meat's a fucking a bitch. He's not interesting or relatable. He just sounds so douchey. His voice, mannerisms, word choices, and personality all annoy the shit out of me. And to top off the fucking sundae of smarm I turn on Chicago Tonight the other evening to see his goateed douche face sitting across from Joel Weisman.

Truth be told, I don't know how they select the media personalities as panelists on Weisman's show "Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review" Friday nights on PBS 11.

It does feel awkward when a sports guy is asked to discuss something other than what he's on the show for.

In his first five minutes on the show this morning, Rozner hit on all the big ones: "I think it's pathetic the hoops Tom Ricketts has to jump through to spend his own money" (i.e., Why can't rich people just do whatever they want!?); "If you don't like season ticket prices, sell your season tickets" (i.e., lulz shut up you dumb poors the market is totes awesome); and even "The Cubs not only should have threatened to leave, they should have made real, earnest efforts to do so" (i.e., YOU'RE LISTENING TO THE RADIO HOME OF WHITE SOX BASEBALL: 670 THE SCOOOORE.).

The station's editorial stance on any issue involving rich people is either coming from some corporate edict, or it's the result of some mighty powerful groupthink.
