See what you've done Reader? :P

Ok, carry on...

Wasn't/isn't Thriller by Michael Jackson the best selling album of all time?!?

What's your point again???

"Thriller" by Michael Jackson, circa 1982, wasn't exactly classic rock, but it was the biggest selling album until The Eagles' "Greatest Hits" surpassed it a few years ago.

Hmph. That's the one Queen song that doesn't suck. Yeah, "We Will Rock You" just doesn't do it for me!

I don't listen to much rock.

I like mostly everything made by

Queen
The Rolling Stones
Weezer
Prince
Foo Fighters

And I'm starting to dig The Beatles a lot more than I used to...

We Are the Champions sucks and if it were never associated with We Will Rock You, I believe most would not feel it sucks, as it does not.

I absolutely love Prince. I never really thought about it until your post, but is he considered "rock"??

Either way, I'm glad he's not a symbol anymore.

I would say he's walked the line between rock and r&b.

I'd consider Purple Rain to be rock. Do Me Baby is R&B. Both are great songs...

re: Prince & Rock.
If there's a guitar and some fuzz, overdrive or distortion...and a guitar solo, you could probably call it "rock."

Take MJ's "Beat-It", is that a rock song? kinda sounds like one... Is "black or white" a rock song? kinda of a poppy rock song if ya ask me...
"Dirty Diana?"
Kinda rockish if ya ask me.

I really don't think people appreciate how bad The Logical Song is.

I mean, they could play it once a day at regular volume to Gitmo detainees and it would be inhumane.

It's not so bad if you're tracking the original album and have to get through "Gone Hollywood" first.

It's not so bad if...

There is no "if." It's bad.

Pre-Med Ken spent many a 9 year-old summer day at the pool listening to this play far too often.

My manservant got quite an earful on those days I'll tell you.

Powerage is a great album and the AC/DC haterz can kiss my ass on that basis alone.

There really is only one answer, and that is Don't Stop Believing.

"Already Gone" is okay. There's another Eagles song I don't mind. I can't remember the name, though. It's, you know, the one with the bass.

Anyone who is pissed off by "Don't Fear the Reaper" or "Don't Stop Believin'" is messed up. Great songs. And "More Than a Feeling!" Come on! When he holds "wooorld" at the end, that's magic. And I think I like all of Van Halen's greatest hits, to varying extents. Some of you are really striking out on what's shitty annoying classic rock and what isn't.

"Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh is one of the worst songs ever.

No. Just no. South Detroit and cheap perfume and bleeeeeech.

I can't imagine anyone saying anything by Van Halen, at least from 1984 and earlier. They had the absolute best classic to stinker ratio of any band I can think of, with a couple of striking exceptions (On Fire is really bad).

Downloaded The Best of Both Worlds and I think the only song I really don't like is "Hot for Teacher." Oh, and the bullshit new tracks. Who needs those.
