They were discussing Bud Selig's latest bit of concern-trolling over the lack of black players in baseball, which Dan dismissed by pointing out the preponderance of Latin players of African descent. He capped his argument by saying something along the lines of "Look at Alfonso Soriano!"

This is what I was trying to say in my previous posts. I understand Dan's position that the final step in Rose's recovery requires that he play in actual basketball games. What I don't understand is why those basketball games have to be this season's playoff games.

Dan's position has always been that players who may have taken some nights off or dogged it during the regular season play harder and more physically when the playoffs start. So if this season doesn't matter, why have Rose's final step in rehabbing his injury begin at a time when everyone else is gearing up to play harder than they have all season? Why not just have him continue to play in practice and play in summer league games and start the 2013-2014 season fresh?

Dan's constant harping on the money that the Bulls stand to lose on ticket sales if Rose decides not to play this year is also troubling. Do the Bulls get out of the second round? Probably not. So what is that 6 or 7 home playoff games? Why take those short term gains vs. the risk of losing out on the far more lucrative long term one?

More and more it seems like Dan's stances on things, when applicable, are just informed by which of the relevant parties are Jewish, and that's really, really sad.
