This is like three years old. I remember reading it in law school.

I've had similar interruptions in my classes but I have never done that. I actually try to convince students to take classes with other professors...less students = less work. However, I'm also really mean/tough/evil (I have been nicknamed Dr. House by the psych majors) in class so my enrollment is always low.

Another point though: this is a masters level class. She was not an undergraduate student she was a MBA student. She really should not be professor shopping at that level. That's the main reason why he probably sent her the "get your shit together" email. I bet he would have been much nicer to an undergraduate student.

Yeah, I noticed after I posted. Took longer for someone to point it out then I thought

And let's not lose sight of the fact that she emailed him. He wasn't a jerk looking to put her down. I'm sure he forgot she existed 5 seconds after she left the class

There was lots of class-shopping in law school, but not people leaving or coming in during the middle of class. People would just go to 8 or 9 classes, then drop down to 3 or 4.

I should say that I am supportive of publicly shaming MBA students in all plausible situations.

Great stuff. I love how the prof handled the situation. People are so damn rude.

In my first semester of college back in the mid 90s someone had a cell phone go off in a history class. The professor stopped class, threw an board eraser at the student, and then kicked him out of class telling him to never come back if he could not behave in a respectable manner.

It made an impact on everyone. No one screwed around in his class and no one walked in late.

You should go to business school, Kid.

Almost every professor is looking to exploit any weakness and see how you react to the pressure.

See, that's too much.

That's worse than having a phone go off.

He could have done all that and not thrown an eraser like a petulant child.
