That is your opinion, I just look at the way he reacted. I don't think it was done with intent. But who gives a shit, let them beat the hell out of each other.

That we can agree on.

So an anxiety disorder causes someone to throw a purpose pitch at Carlos Quentin?

Nice try Brian.

Agreed. Have you ever heard a Greinke interview? There isn't much going on upstairs.

That may actually have something to do with his disorder.

I'm refering to a guy that great things have been expected from since day 1, and his mental make up is the part of the equation that is missing. His physical talent has never been questioned.

His comment about taking the most cash even if it meant playing for the worst team is an example of his mentality being off. It's all about him.

You wanted to show up Carlos Quentin, he showed you. No worries though, your checks will keep coming while you are on the DL.

No, but an anxiety disorder can cause ignorant people to think someone has a 10 cent brain when really its a chemical inbalance.

Its amazing how you are able to tell what is the disorder and what is a "ten cent brain"

No one with a "ten cent brain" is having the year he had in 09. Starting pitching takes more than physical talent.

The post above yours is pretty self explanatory about Grienke.

You must have missed it. I'm sure you wouldn't purposely avoid the real issue with this. You know, just to try and prop up that lame shot you took on page 1.

It's not a lame shot. Its true.

Your polite tone does not mask the ignorance you are spewing here.

You have no idea how smart Zack Greinke is.

I know the perception in Milwaukee from Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio was he was pretty sharp individual. He used to sit in on a lot of the scouting meetings and he would put his on grouping of prospects together. He has is a pretty deep individual, but I would think unless you have had any personal interaction with him it would be pretty hard to determine.

I'm not talking about how intellectually smart he is.

In sports, there are guys who play or pitch their ass off for a team, and aren't Rhodes Scholars.

Urlacher is a great example of this locally.

Zack Greinke: ‘I could play for the worst team if they paid the most’

Most folks are focused on wanting to win championships.

So by 10 cent brain, you meant not focused on the right goal?

Ok.

Yeah I remember reading an article from when he was with the Royals about his intelligence. He is a really sharp dude, but seems to be one of those guys who has a lot of brains, but not much common sense at times.

With that said, Quentin is the idiot in this deal. He was not getting thrown at. When you stand on the plate like he does, that is going to happen.

And a couple of other things.

Like choosing to throw that pitch in the first place.

And then shouting at Quentin after he hit him.

No, and I think Greinke said what a large portion of athletes feel, but just won't say it.

They threw over Kemps head in the first inning. On an 0-2 no less.

Retaliation is part of the game. Common sense doesn't always appear to be part of grienke's though

I would describe it as "honest"

I certainly would not describe a statement that boils down to "Ill take the highest bidder" as stupid. Especially in current economic times.

You are making my point.

Most people in his place would take $5M less in a total package to play for the Dodgers rather than the Marlins as currently constituted.

Yeah, I just don't see the big difference between 142 and 147 million.

You would if you were one of those guys. They want to make all they can when they can.

Some are lucky to have 5 million a year after they are done playing...

I think players at Grienke's pay grade and skill level know that they can make up that cash in endorsements and such while still playing for a championship.

When I think of Dante's third level of hell, I picture myself playing for the Marlins in Miami in July, on a Tuesday night, with 1231 people in the seats and the temp and humidity somewhere near 100.

Now he has 4-6 weeks on the DL to think about how smart it was to get mouthy with Quentin after he hit him.
