It's time to shed a few hibernation pounds to prepare for bikini season. I looked at a few different options and this seemed to be the best. It hasn't disappointed. It tracks your food and tells you exactly how much you should be eating to reach your goals. One of the cool things is that the app has a barcode scanner which automatically detects the food and the count.

If you link it with a fitbit which tracks your steps, stairs, sleep patterns, and miles walked it adjusts your daily calorie count based on your activity. You still have to manually enter things like riding a bike or swimming(it isn't waterproof) but it's a really cool way to track your progress.

You own these apps? That explains how you can afford $100k cars and live in Manhattan.

I wish I lived in Manhattan. It's a lot more fun than where I live.

I did that, but I then found out that omlettes are much easier to eat with a spoon.

I got fat again. I blame my domestication. Was down to about 195 a year and a half ago. Calorie consumption was under 1000 a day. It was brutal, wasn't eating and sweating my ass all night in the salt mine. I would pedal my ass 15 miles in the noon summer sun to work, and first thing I'm reaching for out of my bag? A banana, corn-sugar water? No, I would spark up a 'boro red and then make big rocks into little rocks for a shift five days a week.

Got a raise, a car, and a girlfriend(not necessarily in that order) and lost my edge. My lady Biggie Smalls might not have been able to knock out a 5K, but she could knock out a stack of pancakes before the coffee got cold. Damn, if I don't miss her once and awhile, but not that much.

My curb weight is 240-250 depending on how many biscuits I had for breakfast that day. No kidding BRick, I gots to get in bikini shape too! I'm more of an eat right and work up a sweat everyday get fit kinda guy. Joe Weider, Jack Lalanne, and Jesse Owens didn't need some silly gadget gimzo to get fit. I ran 6.5 miles the other afternoon and only had to a minimal amount of bargaining in my headspace to finish that distance at a comfortable pace.

I'm sure that modern fancy stuff has it's benefits, but eating good food and working out everyday as possible will get you in the best shape just as fast. Good luck with your progress, just remember the three P's. Pain, Perspiration, and Perseverance.

195 to 250? That's a pretty big swing don. Even people in the concentration camps got at least 1,000 calories a day.

I gained some weight too, i think it is age because i haven't done anything different. I started working on it but slowly. 1000 cal isn't much.If you can do it great but watch for the psychological effects. The Minnesota starvation experiment is a good thing to read up on. Be healthy.

1000 calories a day is a really bad idea for a guy. When calories are restricted over a long period of time, the body will compensate by holding on to the few calories that are consumed. Instead of burning calories freely, the body will perform basic life processes more slowly to conserve fuel.

I was literally eating a pop tarts or snack crackers for lunch and dinner. I knew i was running dangerously lean. Just got in summer mode and dinner was not happening.

Gonna try again and don't think i can get under 215 lbs. With a realistic healthy plan.

Too bad I didn't have a girlfriend at that time. Hard to take a girl out on a date in the suburbs via mountain bike.
