Even if we were to lose by a million goals tonight I'd still think the Wings are the perfect first round match up for the Hawks. The Hawks would handle them in a 7 game series, in my opinion, and do it without taking much physical punishment. Win, win. An overtime or shootout win would be just perfect.

I would LOVE them to face the Wings first round. Ideal matchup for the Hawks. Only major weakness is huge forwards relentless forechecking our defense.

I'll dread anyone the Hawks face first. And as we all know, there's no surer way to end up with your foot in your mouth than to say "I like our chances against ___." Don't forget that the Wings took the Hawks to overtime twice and the shootout once. I definitely don't want to face the Coyotes, who are conveniently coalescing just in time for the playoffs, just in time for the refs to stop calling obstruction penalties because you have to let the boys play, just in time for the NHL to try selling the team with a government subsidy again. The Wild are fading fast and can't keep up their try-hard game throughout a best of seven. Same with the Blue Jackets, who are still hanging around. The Stars are thoroughly average and can be had.

I think I'd have to prefer Dallas.
