Do you leave exterior lights on throughout the night? My family always did growing up, but I've noticed a lot of neighbors don't leave any lights on at all. What do you do?

Yes-for security purposes they should be left on. They are nice for the illumination of the home to show off the asthetic qualities of your home, but the purpose they serve in security measures is even more vital.

In all seriousness, why not go with motion sensor lighting? It keeps electricity costs down, but will light up in case someone wants to venture onto your property late at night.

Or an animal or wind or a passing car or just about anything.

The car thing will depend on how big his yard is.

We leave 2 garage lights on all night. Got a motion sensor in the backyard. Only leave the porch light on until we go to sleep.

They run from the light like cockroaches!

I leave my headlights on all the time too, even when the car is off. It shows off the nice, tan exterior of my car, but the fact that I know that a light will deter a car theif is even more vital.
