If you've watched NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" the last 6 years, country star Faith Hill has performed the opening theme right before we see the faces of Al Michaels & Cris Collinsworth just a few minutes before kickoff.

This morning on Twitter, the country star announced that she won't be getting fans riled up for kickoff anymore. Faith added that it was an honor to appear before kickoff of NBC's prime time showcase, but in announcing her decision, she felt it was the time "to let someone else rock the open. Difficult decision. Kinda emotional."

"SNF" executive producer Fred Gaudelli Tweeted "great love and appreciation" to Faith's participation over the years. He has not decided what NBC Sports will do regarding its open this upcoming season.

Shark, This is a glorious message you have shared with us all. I look forward to not hearing her awful opening this upcoming season.

Hank Jr is available btw.

Why the hell does someone have to sing a theme for a football broadcast.

Use the money in other areas. Like cgi robots that do stuff before commercial breaks...

Good riddance. Taylor Swift would be worse though.

This sucks. I can't see how any straight dude, young or old, can not like to ogle Faith Hill.
Besides her flawless face and knockout body, she does have a pretty good voice, too.

According to Sports Media Watch, strong possibility we will have Faith Hill's replacement tomorrow.

They put Sunday Night Football is making a major announcement tomorrow and that was their guess.

I think the show should start right at the 8pm est drop, right in the booth with Al and Gruden, let them babble for a max three minutes, then kickoff.

Same deal on Sunday, put all of those loudmouth assbags out of work, start the games at noon est and go.

And eviscerate anyone connected to cgi robots.

Taylor Swift? Try Carrie Underwood instead. That's the rumor.

Faith's husband just had a song two albums ago about "being pushed out when you get older". You see it a lot in Country music which has a fresh face singing a pop song every frickin' day.

I don't know about that, UMN. According to "SNF" Executive Producer Fred Gaudelli, Carrie will actually be joined by NFL players to perform the "Sunday Night Football" theme.

I'm betting that Tony Romo will hit all the high notes.

Tony Romo is already spoken for. Dallas sportscaster Candace Crawford is Tony's wife these days, although the Cowboys' QB was once an item with Carrie many years ago.
