My baseball will to live is being sapped very quickly this season. It isnt that they are just a bad team... they have been in most games and have found ways to lose. I think a sweep now is just what the doctor ordered to officially kill this season. Good news is that I will be able to go to more games...

One can only hope Washington pencils the big vajay into the lineup one of the games.

I haven't had this much fun watching a Cubs season since '08 when they were great. It only took them 3 games to become funbad. Some notable favorites:

Check the Braves thread. You'll see every person say Marmol will blow the 9th and sure enough 2 Upton dingers.

Or you got Lillibridge punting grounders, batting .000 until 5 days ago and just looking like an idiot.

Stevie Ballgame corkscrewing his way on to the DL.

I can't wait to swoon over his perfectly manicured eyebrows. I wonder how much of a fatass he's become now that he's only a back-up and BBQ/Tex-Mex is widely available.

I predict; AJ Pierzynski will be involved in some sort of debacle this series. Be it a controversial call, brawl, ejection, late inning go ahead homerun....something.

Brent Lillibridge, we hardly knew ye. Designated for assignment by the Cubs today. Relievers Kevin Gregg & Kameron Lee also join the Cubs' bullpen, while 2B Darwin Barney has been activated from the DL. Utility IF Cody Ransom, DFA'd by the Padres Saturday, is expected to join the Cub roster as soon as tonight. More likely tomorrow.

Some guy named Takahashi(?) also has been DFA'd by the Chicago National League Ballclub, while C Steve Clevenger has been placed on the 60 Day DL to make room for 2B Darwin Barney's return.

Yeah Takahashi was the 2nd awful Japanese pitcher in the Cubs bullpen. I think they are bringing in Hideki Irabu for a workout too.

Phil, what kind of revival are we looking at here with cumdumpster Lillibridge no longer being able to spreading his cancerous shitheadness? I want to be conservative but I'm feeling the Cubs rip off at least 6 straight.

Free at last! Free at last!

Minimum 10 wins in a row. If Brent Lillibridge was ice cream he would be Pralines and Dick.

For the record, here's the Cubs' lineup vs. Texas pitcher Derek Holland:

17 Dave Sappelt CF (R)
13 Starlin Castro SS (R)
44 Anthony Rizzo 1B (L)
12 Alfonso Soriano LF (R)
21 Scott Hairston RF (R)
53 Welington Castillo C (R)
15 Darwin Barney 2B (R)
8 Alberto Gonzalez 3B (R)
37 Travis Wood P (R)

I'd like to agree with you BUT Steven Scott Clevenger is on the 60 day DL. I believe it is a wash and the Cub continue to play sloppy baseball.

Couldn't they have at least let Lillibridge get a single hit before releasing him!!! Good riddance.

I have no desire to see Goggles Gregg back. Why the hell isn't Kameron Loe up instead of him or is he already on the roster?

Glad to see there aren't fucking around but let's be honest, this roster is going to be a merry go round all year long.

Ranson is probably history once HOFer to be Ian Stewart begins his triumphant return to the show.

If he can start hitting,he will stick. It's a good message being sent by the Cubs. Perform or bye-bye. If Lillibridge was batting .240/.260 at least,I think he would still be here. Rodriguez playing 3rd tonight,Clevenger the day before. I think Valbuena is running out of chances.

Svuem loves Valbuena. Gonzalez is playing because of LH starter for Texas.

I agree with the produce or get out of town edict. That's how it should be. Lillibridge sucked. Adios!

Takashita (or whatever) sucked too. But so do Gregg and Loe so we will see how long they last.

Not that it really matters but why in the hell is Swaimer batting Castillo 6th when he is tearing the cover off the ball so far this year. I think he is your 5 hole hitter until Soler arrives in 2015.

They can also shit can willie mayes hayes sappelt if he thinks he is going to waste every AB swinging for the fences.

The Cubs are 0 for their last 24 with RISP?

What's the record?
