That McGinley clown was brutal. Just like the Cubs offense.

John C. McGinley seems like a guy that takes himself VERY seriously.

I could have sworn that was Red Barber himself I was hearing.

:salut:

Another nice game by Wood. He got bailed out a few times by crushed balls that didn't carry but results are results. If he can be Ted Lilly I'm ecstatic or if a bit poorer Lilly I'm happy.

Wow he pulled Wood so Camp can shoot a laser at the 1st base tarp. Damn you Sveum, you penismuncher.

Seriously. When can we start to question sveums acumen? Even if you have horseshit talent, you should know who is getting hammered and who has a chance. These are the pitchers thAt came from spring training so the team should know what they have. No midseason unknown callups here. Camp was tosskng meat and if it was summer and 80 degrees two balls would have broken windows across the street. Time to start managing the team instead of just looking to 2016.

I didn't understand the Svuem hiring and he's done nothing to impress me at all.

I don't know. He usually explains his moves pretty well. Who does he turn to in the bullpen? Camp was pretty good last season. This team is already in a tailspin. You give a manager this roster, what the hell can he do?

Agreed, series of strange moves that made no sense.

It just seems that he has been mismanaging the pitching staff from Day 1 last year and I see no improvement this year. This was a close game so maybe Russell or Marmol who has looked good the last 2 times out. Camp got shelled in his last outing so I'd be kind of hesitant there.

Just not a Svuem fan. Doesn't seem like he's all that smart from a strategic standpoint.

At all.

What pisses me off is that they are better than I expected in some phases, but still terrible.

With a good bullpen, this team is .500

There is no glory in winning 78 rather than 73

#Cubs starting pitchers rank 4th in NL with 3.20 ERA, yet are combined 2-7. Relievers rank 15th (last) in NL with 6.06 ERA

Speaks to your point.

Yes.

Its unsustainable though. They are 26th in runs.

They are just good enough to lose close games. At this point just get fucking blown out so I dont have to watch bullshit in the 8th and 9th innings...

Thought for sure this game would be rained out after they hit back to back homers and Castro took 2 walks.

Time to finish this series.

Strange move today as Loe was DFA'd and Dolis called up. Why is Marmol still on the roster and other pitchers are getting designated?
