Crane Kenney exudes lucky-sperm-club shithead WASP. I think I might hate him too.

I've written before that Crane Kenney's would not take half the heat he does if his name was Joe O'Brien. The name immeditaely gives you the "well ahoy, polloi" feeling.

He went to Notre Dame....which makes the B and B dislike much clearer to me.

That's fine, but I don't think he's much different from Tom Ricketts, which is probably why he was kept around.

If you drink New Coke you will be smarter because its new. That really is the argument here.

Do you want to know what gives really up to the minute information on baseball while I am at the game...MY I PHONE, which I rely on much more heavily than the boards at modern parks like PNC and Miller.

Are we really supposed to believe the board is for the occasional informational moment sandwiched between LOTS OF ADVERTISING?

I find Sox games much less enjoyable these days with those stupid interns throwing out t shirts between innings. That isn't progress and it isn't an enhancement to the fan experience, so quit bullshitting me that this somehow makes Cubs fans better. It makes the team wealthier...nothing wrong with that but quit trying to piss on my leg and tell me its raining.

What about Tom Ricketts inspires confidence?

Other than standing beside the lectern.

Lucky sperm club, douchiest type of Bleacher Cub fan, spent WAAAAAY too high a percentage of his worth on the Cubs, sold his father on the idea by citing attendance, which has been steady for 15 years, and immediately started lessening after the purchase.

I just dont see how anyone could be a FAN of Ricketts. At best, I could see tolerating him.

oh and the Crane Kenny story of wearing the Cub uniform seems exaggerated.

But Tom Ricketts used Advanced Intelligence-Gathering Analytics (asking people) to determine that Cubs fans want a jumbotron so they can watch replays and absorb advertisements with the understanding that they increase revenue and make the team better (snort). But how can Cubs fans recognize the greatness of a revenue-generating jumbotron if they're such a bunch of idiots who are only now learning to understand Big Boy Baseball? Or is one's understanding of baseball measured by one's receptiveness to a jumbotron?

And furthermore, isn't "Tom Ricketts said he asked some people" just another version of the "everyone on twitter is saying..." bullshit?

Im not kidding when I say I bet that the Social Media super analysis is just Ricketts searching his own name on Twitter.

does anyone remember when Jerry Reinsdorf commissioned a survery of Sox fans about 15 years ago that reached the conclusion that it wasn't Jerry Reinsdorf's fault...not making that up

marketing data = baseball statistic data. Spin any way you want. Nobody knows what went into the analysis in the first place. But yeah, they changed the seats and took down a few rows of seats after that.

I don't think the Cubs know their fanbase any more than the Sox do. I've taken the Sox survey a couple times. It doesn't ask the right questions. There's no way for me to get across what I really feel. Now, maybe I'm not the average fan. But I'm going to make at least 25 games and spend a shitload of cash on beer out there, so I would think my opinion means something. A guy that goes to the park once every other season might have different views on what's important. But I'd be careful about tailoring the ballpark experience to his desires rather than those of the "out-of-town rubes, local wackos and elderly sentimentalists" who care enough to attend McDonoughfests and buy multiple ticket packages every year.

it's only his fault in the sense that he hasn't already moved the team...

by and large, season ticket holders are not these people mentioned above. What do you mean by "multiple ticket packages"?

There are certainly plenty of season ticket holders that attend the team conventions. bernstein is acting like it's the sole domain of goofs like the Bleacher Preacher. But that's just bernstein's disdain for the fans coming through. Those people are passionate. His question is "why do you care?" My question to him is why do you care if how another person spends his time and money and if he paints his face blue and red and wears a Cubs jersey to work every day of the year?

By multiple ticket packages I mean commitment. Whether it's fourteen games or 27 or the whole damn 81, that's a commitment of time and cash to the team. It's a lot different than your Ice Mountain salesman handing the guy who buys the water down the hall a pair and his survey answers being given the same weight as yours or bigfan's.

well, bigfan's should have a lot more weight. He's a way bigger guy than me.

(and he sits in seats that I couldn't afford to sit in on a thrice a year basis even)

I'd like to. If he's going to prop Ricketts/Theo for Julian, he's got to answer for Crane.

Nah. I mean 100% trolling calls, like the dude last week. Sure the call sucked, but it's entertaining to hear how worked up Dan is at times.

Apparently all the "red-faced crackers" in Champaign resent how much of their money goes to black Chicagoans. I wonder if they think people in Englewood should just move somewhere else.

Since you began posting your slack jawed yokel type non sense, I have suspected you were from Champaign.

Then I saw the username.

If Julian was such a critical piece to a huge sports story, I think it is only correct for B and B to interview him and let him describe all the work he did.

It seems to me everybody is racist except the guy who wants to Breed Brittany Griner
