Obviously if there were pressure cooker bans this bombing wouldn't have happened or wouldn't have been as easy to perpetuate. Perhaps we should have background checks on pressure cooker purchases so that those with criminal backgrounds won't have access to pressure cookers that are used in these types of bombings.
It's clear, it's time, it's common sense. We need to ban these dangerous devices.
I mean, do you need a pressure cooker? Aren't there other ways of cooking things like pot roast? You don't NEED a pressure cooker to make these things. You could use other devices.
Its' time people. ban these devices. No one NEEDS one, they're dangerous, and they're unnecessary.

fail? Why? What's the difference between this pressure cooker and the firearms used in other crimes?

I hear what you are saying, but the pressure cooker didn't blow up, gunpowder did.

And what exploded in the firearms used in the Colorado and Sandy Hook shootings?
The same gunpowder.
So keep guns, keep pressure cookers, ban gunpowder?

Should we also consider banning backpacks?
You cannot see what's inside of them.
They have been known to contain guns in School Shootings such as Columbine and these Pressure Cooker bombs.

I think that backbacks should be banned too.

Without backpacks, this bombing DOES NOT happen.

I think there will be a point where nobody's allowed to carry anything on them & they have to wear skintight bodysuits.

And yet the odds are better the government will do more to protect us from pressure cookers than guns.

I just think that if the solution to shootings is to ban guns, then obviously the solution to these bombings is to ban pressure cookers.

This pressure cooker did a lot more damage than a gunman would have been able to do.
There's so many cops there that someone would have taken a gunman out quick.

I know you're not, but countering a silly argument with another silly argument, is how nothing ever gets done in this country.

And shocked and persuaded my soul to ignite.

It's obvious that what we really need to ban is science. If combustion wouldn't occur, most untimely deaths would be prevented.

No. Not a given for sure. But do you think a jerk with a couple handguns could hurt as many people as a guy with a couple pressure cookers and some shit he bought at Walmart?
I think the walmart shopper could be a lot more dangerous than the gunman, under certain circumstances.

When 30k people die and 70k people are injured by pressure cookers a year, it will be a good time to ask.

Wait...
whatever happened to the "If we can save one life" crowd?

And now that the cat is out of the bag on how easy it is to inflict mass casualties with pressure cookers perhaps those statistics will shift.

Should guns be banned, the dedicated will find another way to hurt people. 2L bottles and aluminum foil and draino?

Can we also ban exercise? If we didn't have running, this wouldn't have ever happened.

There is no cat being let out of the bag. Al Qaeda has had the pressure cooker bomb recipe up for 15 years per experts on Hannity.

And as my original post noted, the US will do more to regulate pressure cookers, 2L bottles, aluminum foil, and Drain-O than guns.

that's not the deal. They don't think you can do anything for yourself.

I support second amendment rights but this "If we ban guns we have to ban every physical thing that's ever been near a crime" is pretty silly.

We don't need to ban guns but that kind of comparison isn't helping

BAN THIS ARGUMENT

Nonsense.
I've said all along, guns are a tool. nothing more, nothing less.
You can ban em, background check em, but none of that would make these marathoners any safer.

I think banning arguments, RPB, is much much more dangerous than banning guns for what it's worth.
A little satire is a wonderful tool for showing just how damn silly an idealism can be, such as gun bans.

Hells yeah.

Of course it's a silly argument to ban pressure cookers. That's the point.

You can't ban everything that might be dangerous. You couldn't possibly do it.

because somehow, everything is dangerous. Just about anything can hurt people.
