We have some heavy rain in the area. Unless you must travel, I recommend staying indoors.

Good advice, Newper. I've also closed all our windows.

Now's the time to sell. Can list my yard as waterfront property... actually got the "schools closed" call due to rain for first ever.

I woke up at 5:30 to the sound of my gutters overflowing. I have a cone shaped screen in the downspout, so it doesn't get clogged from the buds that the maple tree drops. There were so many buds in the gutter, that the water couldn't drain fast enough. So, I grabbed the fiberglass ladder and removed the screen.

I had a similar situation happen on Tuesday indoors. Went into the laundry room and nearly broke my neck because the floor was soaking wet. What could be the problem? The lint catcher on the washer drain had filled so full of lint that the water wasn't getting through anymore, and it was backing out of the top of it, running down the hose and all over the floor. Filters are great except when they filter too much (and the user forgets to change them!)

Rte 45 is flooded in 5-6 spots in Lake County...going to be interesting trying to get home this afternoon. Had to drive in the opposite lane at the Village of Vernon Hills. Indian Creek is cresting. All ponds are full and discharging at their overflows.

Butterfield Road near Oakbrook is about 30 mins away from being underwater in some areas. I'm not sure what all the Audi's, Mercedes and BMW's are going to do.

Little Cal river in NWI already has gone over the banks. Time to see if the millions they spent actually works now...

Deerfield Road going east of Milwaukee is closed for construction. Shit ton of lights were out on Lake Cook. Des Plaines River is already up to people's houses. Gnarly shit.

Edit: Driving north on Milwaukee just before Deerfield saw a Ambulance fall into a sink hole in a parking lot or something. The front right tire sank into something and back tires were in the air. Super gnarly shit.

I had a demo in plainfield at 6am.

Van Dyke, 127th and some others are totally flooded. Retention ponds can retain no more.

few people got stuck by the wal mart.

I designed a building just north of the tracks and south of the creek on the west side of Van Dyke.

Right of you if driving south on Milwaukee just south of Deerfield. In a medical office parking by a gas station I think.
