I will admit that I am fearful of the people who will be in charge of the regulation. I don't trust them.

Obama said today that no one is safer as a result of the failure of the bill. I submit that no one truly would have been safer with the passage of the bill. That's my opinion.

I'm not a gun owner so I haven't thought much about it but what is the fear of the list? How would it be used?

Well, it's not really the "list" I'm fearful of. Although I would submit that my name being released as a FOID owner along with my address (like our own AG wanted to do) would make me a target for crime.

I am more fearful of the people that want so desperately to disarm me. The government that has no problem keeping us addicted to oil, and subjected to billions of dollars worth of advertising of pills we don't need, and a government that poisoned crestwood, and a government that killed the electric car in leiu of keeping us in environment killing machines suddenly cares so much for me?
I don't buy it.
I am fearful of a government that exists simply to further our dependence upon it.
I am fearful of a government that wages war against not just countries... but also ideas. "Wars" on drugs that do little more than imprison a larger percentage of our population that almost every other country in the world and further addiction and racial inequity.
I'm fearful of the idea that we're perpetuating that no one is safe without goverment intervention. That no one can protect us unless they're appointed or elected.

I see your point of view even though I dont share it exactly.

I know DS is being face..faesis...kidding but maybe one solution is to incorporate some type of
unique identification that can be tracked by police with a scanner. I'm sure they can incorporate some slight thing in the paint or something making it unique to pressure cookers.

I'm against it in the sense that it's not permissive enough. I don't see where in the Constitution is says I can't have a gun that shoots knives, but every time I go down to the patent office Uncle Sam keeps turning me down.
