I love that show Splash.

Call me crazy, but I'll take thick Nicole Eggert over the Baywatch one.

Speaking of Nicole Eggert, she's in the hospital. TMZ is reporting...

Bob sounds like he's a little sleepy today.

Do I know my Bob in Park Ridge? I knew something was wrong. I hope he can get in tomorrow.

Dan plugging a charity for the blind. For the record, that charity should not be shot.

I'm curious as to how specifically a jumbotron improves the game day experience because God knows I wouldn't be able to appreciate a Sox game without being able to guess which animated Connies pizza is going to win the race around the ballpark.

Why the fuck would someone wait on hold to regurgitate the exact same talking point the Dan espoused five minutes before?

"Economics demand it."

Wrigley is the only major-league park without such a screen, the Tribune report continued. Julian Green, a Cubs spokesman, told the paper, "This is about winning, bringing our fans a world championship. The revenue that we can generate from signs, the Jumbotron [now a generic term for these huge screens], and some of the other features that we're trying to do in the stadium, this helps put money back onto the field."

Green went on, "We start at a competitive disadvantage every season when you look at other ball clubs who are able to provide a higher level of amenities, as well as being able to generate revenue."

That's really the only reason why a jumbotron is being pushed. The Cubs don't give a shit about providing an "improved game day experience" they just want to squeeze as much cash out of the stadium as possible. And I have absolutely nothing against this. But I don't like Dan presenting it as this giant favor Ricketts is bestowing on Cub fans and I don't like him misrepresenting what the purposes of the jumbotron and video-boards are. The way Dan tells it Cubs funs are furrowing their brows, desperately trying to figure out what the count is, or what the out of town scores are, or the replays, my God won't someone think of the replays!

Cubs fans have been watching this team blow plays for years. Once per play has been enough.

Is anyone in the 4th column going to call bullshit on the narrative of alterations winning baseball being bullshit?

This is about as preposterous of a shift as the "we are building a workout facility".
