That 19 year old kid really didn't know what he was doing. Didn't grasp it. He wasn't religious. He didn't care about politics. He was an all American 19 year old. He liked pot, soccer and wrestling. That brother brain washed him in quick order. Like maybe in a week's time. Maybe guilted him into helping him.

Don't get me wrong. He dropped the bag and was old enough to know what he was doing. He deserves what he's gonna get. I'm just saying he didn't do it for any religious or political reasons. Hell, his friend said he wasn't religious or political. He did it cuz he wanted to please his brother. He admired him and thought if his brother says it's for the right reasons, then it must be. That's it. This was 100% the older brother's cause. I'm convinced of that even more than I was when I knew nothing about either of them. And I thought it the second I saw the video of them turning that corner.

If this guy is guilty, he should get the strictest punishment allowed. However, its terrible he was not read his Miranda rights. The justice system, getting legal representation and right to a fair trial is one of the things that makes this country great. I think this guy is probably guilty as sin, but that doesn't mean he should not have the same rights to a fair and speedy trial that every other American gets.

Its a good thing that they got him, and got him so quickly. Its still a sad day for our country.

I don't give a shit about his Miranda rights. They have plenty of evidence (including both brothers shooting at Police and throwing bombs at them) to put him away for life-if not execute him. At this point it's about extracting as much information as possible. Were these 2 aided by any other individuals or terrorist organizations? Whether the information is excluded from trial is unimportant. They need to know ASAP, so as to avoid any further incidents, should anyone else (individual or group) be planning on further bombings, that might have been connected to this. I don't care if they torture the bastard to get the information, as they did to guys at Guantanamo. He was involved in terrorism and should be treated as such.

You probably don't even understand what Miranda rights are. They are important only in so far as exclusionary evidence. If this whackjob gives up any information that implicates him in any way in the bombings or in terrorist activities prior to being advised of him Miranda rights (that he has the right to remain silent, that anything he says can and will be used against him. That he has a right to an attorney and if he cannot afford one, one will be appointed to him. That he has the right to have an attorney present during questioning) then any information divulged would be excluded at trial. But they have enough evidence to have him put away for life (or executed) already anyway. So getting the information is the only thing to focus on for the Police. Whether it will be admissible in court doesn't matter. He shot at and killed a Police officer. He's never going to be free again anyway. So his Miranda rights don't matter. Getting information that could turn out to save more lives does.
