The Sox will become more popular once Hawk is gone from the booth. He makes it really hard to watch a game with the volume on if you aren't a Sox fan. I turned on wgn yesterday thinking it was the cubs game and it was the sox and it was a good game 5-3 in the 7th. I had to turn it off and get it on the mlb game tracker instead to finish following it.

Agreed, Hawk is awful, but so are the rest of the Sox broadcasters. Rongey is a self-denying-cabana boy douche. Stone is a master of the obvious who hasn't had anything interesting to say since he made the switch from radio to TV. Darrin Jackson is completely devoid of personality--and possibly a soul. And Farmer lacks the descriptive and contextualization ability I associate with Major League play-by-play announcers. If ever there were a broadcasting team assembled with intention of making people hate baseball, themselves and the world around them, it's this one. Go Sox.

I wouldn't mind watching a White Sox game every now and then but absolutely will not because of Hawk. He was embarrassingly bad more than a decade ago and has apparently gotten worse. Radio is pretty bad, too, for the reasons TM mentioned.

For whatever reason, DJ and Farmio have grown on me. Not that I think it's good per se, and I think they genuinely don't like it each, but it's entertaining in it's own way.
