He isnt a #1! He is a Good #2, who sometimes throws the ball like #1

Also, need to see the guy throw some games that matter, as we had a guy here who had some great numbers, then in any game that mattered he was one of the worst starters I have ever seen. DEMP!

Also, how about a hair cut dude! I got a 2 for 1 coupon at Sports cuts for you and Russell

Shark wasn't supposed to be a number 1.
Injuries put him there.

He'll be the number 2 once they acquire David Price. It's fine for now.

Garza? He might be weaker than Shark.

I know Theo wants that guy gone!

Yeah Garza. He would be the #1 if healthy but he doesn't seem to want to pitch and Theo doesn't seem to want him either.

Marmol is the real #2 on this team.

On a good team, Garza is a #3. He is not a #1 healthy or not.

If Theo wants him gone (and I think he does too) it's the prduct of good judgement. Garza is going to be looking for a contract that he's not close to being worthy of.

Outside of actual pitching Garza is not a team favorite from many angles.

But being he is the Rip Hamilton of the Cubs, they cant even showcase this pain in the ass to trade him!

I think Shark has the stuff to be a #1, but mentally he isnt even close. He gets in really good grooves and really bad grooves almost every game and #1 guys just dont do that.

Maybe he should try winning some fucking games before he's even thought of as a Number 2. I cant even call him the Cubs Gavin Floyd because its an insult to Floyd.

Whitenmeyer spent an entire Sunday column detailing how Garza would have a deflated value in FA because of the new system. Then he detailed that the Cubs would first have to make him a qualifieing offer at $14 million. Good stuff, Gordo.

People overrate the ranking of pitching staffs.

Some guys are way out ahead. They are aces. Most of the rest are just different degrees of average but they are largely the same....average

I know. How many pitchers are true #1s?

Its kind of like QBs. There are 5 or 6 who are legit aces (Strasburg, Verlander, etc), then there are quite a few who are great #1's, but short of being MVP type pitchers (Sale, Gio Gonzalez, Wainright)

I bet if we looked through all MLB we could only find 10-12 actual #1s.
