"Rhiannon" is such a great song. My favorite song by Fleetwood Mac/Nicks is "Dreams". One of my favorite songs in general.

I simultaneously love and hate "Love the One You're With" by Stephen Stills.

The message of the song is abhorrent. The refrain is basically imploring its listener to cheat or to settle, both of which are awful ideas. Inasmuch as Stephen Stills is not Randy Newman, it's hard to buy him as an unreliable narrator, making a pointed commentary on the ultimate folly of Free Love in which loving the one is with leads to heartbreak and/or venereal disease. The lyric about the eagle flying with the dove could have come out of the Hippy-Dippy Folk-Rock Lyric Generator.

And yet, sonically, so good.

I cannot find any faults with "Where's the Love" by Hanson. Eat me. Not a top-track to listen to, but there's just nothing wrong with it, and don't reach for the FF button very fast, if at all, when I find it playing.

I think Elton played "Bennie and the Jets" on Soul Train. My parents thought it was very strange that I watched a "black show".

I think we considered the Go-Go's a band for chicks, but not as much as Bon Jovi was. I mean, the Go-Go's had Belinda Carlisle who had been Dottie Danger in the Germs so that gave them some cred.

"Call Me Maybe" is hard to hate.

I can't really say I hate Bon Jovi, they just never registered with me at all. I never paid any attention to them. The radio stations I listened to didn't play them. As big as they were, I almost missed them entirely. Of course, I know what "Livin' On A Prayer" is, but I pretty much avoided it.

Elton John is great although I only have a small little Greatest Hits disc with 10 songs.
I should get some more of his stuff. I will unabashedly admit that I have Vampire
Weekend on my Pandora and enjoy the music when it comes on. It isn't for everyone
but I like it popping up once in a while on my Pandora. Hall and Oates for sure. I
see that Daryl Hall show when he has guests in his house to jam sometimes. It is a
good time. Last episode I saw he had Cee-Lo. Good show I must admit.

I am not embarassed to admit it exactly but I really like a few female artists like
Feist, A Fine Frenzy and my favorite is Ingrid Michaelson. Saw her in Milwaukee not
too long ago and was not only a great performer but very funny onstage. Very talented.
I guess one artist that I like that some may or may not know about would be G Love.
I like his mix of funk and pop and rap. I guess it is considered alternative hip hop...
well, whatever. I purchased his Yeah, Its That Easy album 3 times and lost every
single one. Partied to that many evenings in college.

I would say they were solid alternative from "Goo Goo Dolls" through "Boy Named Goo." I like "Dizzy Up the Girl," quite a bit but that's the album where, IMO, they pretty much made the switch.
