I created a new sandwich (at least for me this weekend) of a sesame bagel, thick cut bacon and cream cheese. Great stuff. The cream cheese held the bacon in place, even the crumbles. The fluffy texture of the cream cheese replaced the need for an egg. I don't like eggs anyway and can only stomach scrambled.

As a guy who grew up on the Skokie-Evanston border, I find the very idea of a bagel with ham or bacon abhorrent.

You'd think so...but they actually have done a few that I didn't care for...at least not compared to the aforementioned culinary giant.

That bacon/bacon biscuit is a mess...the combination of bacon and canadian bacon is too much.

Also, that cheddar biscuit they did a year ago or so where it was just a biscuit and cheese...yeah, not so much.

But yeah, bacon egg and cheese and even the straight up sausage biscuit are the goods.

I don't think I ever seen a Hardees. Where are they?

...though I think I may have stumbled across one last winter downtown somewhere...but yeah, few and far between.

When I was back home by mom, went and picked up Hardees biscuits for breakfast twice. Just outstanding, and I do agree on the bacon bacon biscuit. Now just a regular bacon biscuit is awesome.

I don't think Hardee's is the same as before. I saw one down in Texas, I think, but it looked different than the ones I went to as a kid.

I think they were bought out by some other company just for the name.

White Castle has a very, very good breakfast menu. Just be prepared to wait several minutes for your order. They fry the eggs and toast the bread fresh, so while it takes a little longer its at or near the top of the list for a fast food breakfast.

Egg is unnecessary and although on their own bacon > sausage, on a sandwich sausage wins everytime.

I originally tried it because I'm impatient as hell and the MCD on Army Trail Rd in Glendale Heights is too effing long at 8 in the morning, and every time I pass the WC it's never a line. You're right Frank, it's usually about a 5 min wait, but not bad at all.

Hardee's is the same here as it's always been...well, except for the shift they made 10 or so years ago when they went to exclusively thickburgers.

Breakfast has been glorious since I can remember.

Maybe one of the worst places I have ever been.

The Par cooked burgers, so he can toss them on the grill at lunch are TERRIBLE! They must cook them at 9AM, let them sit in grease all morning and then when someone orders a burger, they toss it on the grill until the cheese melts...it works for fries ...not for burgers!

I also go no cheese but have learned to btolerate it. They get it right about 80%

Not a fan of the Duncan Donuts Big N Tasty, and the main reason is the last time I got one, the Texas Toast was big (and somewhat tasty) but the egg was below refrigerator cold but above freezer frozen. I had to eat just the toast and throw away the rest as I was on the move and couldn't go back to complain. So I just get coffee from there now which is good enough.

My absolute, 100% favorite bacon egg and cheese is the Red Baron mini pizza thing. To be honest, I don't know if they make them any more, and I know they reclassified them as biscuits at one point, but my god, were they awesome. I could eat them day and night.
