Are you shitting me? I was listening to the game while driving home with the kids and I thought "I wonder who'll fuck it up tonight?" I should have known. I thought Sveum said Marmol would be given a chance to "work himself back into the closers role"? What fucking difference does it make anyway. Maybe a 2003 tigers challenge is in the works. 49-113?

I have seen a lot of shit cub teams in my life, but i do not remember two years in a row where i have tuned out by mid -late april. I would think they are throwjng games but that would give them too much credit. Theo has a plan - does the plan include 2000 asses in the park in july? Everything about this team reeks. Sure even the manager gets a passs but what is that tv contract worth when no one is watching and you hope to be respectable by 2014. No wait, 2015. No wait, 2016. No wait, when does Soler get out of prison

Directors still cross-cut to pitchers who are denied wins, as if it matters. He pitched great, we know it, and the "win" stat sucks. Stop.

I just had a vision of the Cubs hiring someone from FanGraphs to advise Arne Harris during a broadcast. I could instantly see Arne Harris saying "kid, do you see this titty I'm capturing? Good, because I'm sure you won't touch one for at least another fourteen years."

The hit and run was on but he had already rounded 3rd by the time the ball was caught. I don't like the call by swaimer but he probably did it so rizzo would swing the damn bat.

Big win. This is the win that turns our season around and has us taking the division.

When Marmol and Sappelt get the fuck outta here and stop infecting the team with their shittiness I agree division is doable. Until then....dumpster diarrhea.

Cubs won on two rare HR's (Ransom & Barney),but once again excellent starting pitching. Marmol & Gregg scared fans with the high wire act but came through when it counted. I think this team might win a few more if they make
Edwin Jackson the first 52 million dollar middle releiver. They need somebody to be consistent besides Russell. Jackson (or Feldman?) can give you a solid 3 innings before he craps out.

marmol didn't come through with shit. He blew the save and created his own mess with the walks. Gregg took care of business even though he gave up a few hits.

You are correct,he let the inherited runner in. Still not as bad as blowing it on his own.

As much as you hate losing, do you have any clue just how awful the Cubs would be if you were even the traveling assistant to the GM?

I don't know what your looking at but right now Feldman & Jackson might give you 3-4 decent innings as starters before they get roughed up. The bullpen is in shambles. It wouldn't hurt for Feldman (probably better choice) to come in some games around the 6th or 7th and shutdown the other team for a few. Listen, the ship is sinking in friggin' April. This team can't even keep it interesting for two months. To be honest though,I feel with a few breaks going the other way, maybe they might start winning a few. They have shaken up the roster quite a bit.

Gregg's stuff is mop up man stuff at best nowadays. He's lucky he got the save and of course Svuem did not have Russell up in the 9th.

They are damn lucky they won this game.

Svuem continues to prove he is not a big league manager.

Brutal strategist.

They may well have a decent run when/if Garza and Baker are in the rotation. But if that works out, chances are good that Garza and Villanueva (and perhaps Baker, if he can get enough quality starts in) will be dealt for prospects. But it would be nice to see the team play well for a month or so....But it's not time yet for a true run at contention. They are not built yet for that. AT LEAST another year, probably 2.
