I simultaneously love and hate "Love the One You're With" by Stephen Stills.

The message of the song is abhorrent. The refrain is basically imploring its listener to cheat or to settle, both of which are awful ideas. Inasmuch as Stephen Stills is not Randy Newman, it's hard to buy him as an unreliable narrator, making a pointed commentary on the ultimate folly of Free Love in which loving the one is with leads to heartbreak and/or venereal disease. The lyric about the eagle flying with the dove could have come out of the Hippy-Dippy Folk-Rock Lyric Generator.

And yet, sonically, so good.

LIked the two first albums but the third one was really bad. I saw them a few months back and the show was terrible. It was the third show I had been to and I might not see another one it was so depressing.

Yeah, I didn't pick up the most recent release. I heard some songs off it and wasn't impressed.
Still like the earlier work enough to call her a favorite of mine from the female persuasion.

I know Bob Stinson is gone, but a full fledged Replacements reunion is like the only reunion out there still that hasn't happened ,aside from the Smiths

I like all the Westerberg solo stuff except Suicaine Gratifaction and even that has some moments. I'd rather not see a reunion. Sometimes it's best to leave the past in the past.
