When Dan asked him why, Terry gave the kind of thoughtful, informed reply we have all come to expect from him: "I just don't."

Perfect, if he's bad, Terry knew it.

If he's good, well can you blame me? The guy was a weirdo for the love of god

If he's concerned that Phil Emery will swing & miss like his predecessor Jerry Angelo made with 1st & 2nd Round NFL Draft picks generally managing the Bears, I can't say I blame him.

Been rooting for this since Dan voiced his opinion of Te'o.

How much more quickly will Dan (or anyone) find out via Twitter who has been drafted than he would if he were watching the draft on TV? Isn't everything just speculation until the pick is officially announced?

A few minutes ago Terry said there was nothing interesting about Teo, nothing about him worth talking about...and now he's talking about him.

Honestly, Twitter is usually a minute or two faster than ESPN on draft night. At least that was my experience during the last NBA draft.

Also, please, please, please, please have the Bears draft Te'o. B&B already are angry about it.

I am shocked, shocked that Dan's idea for preventing Steubenville-style incidents is privatization.

Just a guess, but is this conversation coming up because Terry accidentally saw a current sports story on Law and Order SVU last night?

But I thought Emery was REALLY SMART.

According to a Tweet from NFL Network's Stacey Dales, who is stationed with the Bears in Lake Forest for NFLN's own NFL Draft coverage, she says the Bears might very well be drafting a linebacker with the #20 pick in Round 1. Hmmm...

Privatize what? High school football programs? I do think schools should be out of the brain injury business, but I doubt that prevents rape.

"Who's Your Guy?" is NEXT. I wonder if Drinky & Tanny are recording every minute of the upcoming Brian Kenny/Ken Harrelson argument on MLB Network's "MLB Now" also this hour...

The sad part is that Terry's position on Emery is still probably more well-founded than Dan's. General distrust for opaque reasons is far superior to kneejerk love/hate based solely on how GMs talk to the media/treat the fans.

Yea....I've posted this before but has there ever been a quicker 180 on 2 guys than with emery and trestman? From really smart football to weird in a few months. And I can't believe it took Dan 2 months to figure out they were weird. The pressers pretty much solidified that.

Right now, ESPN/Mel Kiper has the Bears taking Te'o.

This is all a ploy to get something from the Vikes or make the Vikes trade up and lose it's picks.

I hope you're right, Hank. For some reason, I can't imagine Emery being bright enough to think that plan up.

If the Bears indeed draft a linebacker, might Georgia's Alex Ogletree, not Notre Dame's Mante Te'o, be the choice come the #20 pick barring a trade?
