I've come around on TSwift. I used to dislike her,but her last song "Trouble" and the one before that are catchy. She also has been growing into a fine woman, getting passed that "gawky" period.

I've been a big Taylor Swift fan ever since the release of her 2010 album, Speak Now. Before that, I really didn't understand any of her work. Too girly, too non-intellectual. It was on Speak Now where Taylor's presence became more apparent. I think "Mine" was her undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding two albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Heller, Sidoti and Mickelson. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, Speak Now hit a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to "Sparks Fly." In this song, Swift addresses the problems of unrequited love and the aimless, ultimately futile, wishes of the heart. "Speak Now" is the most moving country-pop song of this decade, about saving loved ones from making life-altering, negative decisions. The song is extremely uplifting. Her lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock, country, or pop. Taylor Swift's recent career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Trouble." But I also think Taylor works best as an artist within the confines of country or country-pop, rather than strictly pop, and I stress the word artist. I'm currently listening to "Begin Again," a great, great song -- a personal favorite.

My girl likes Taylor Swift's songs but simultaneously finds her lyrics annoying. I'm literally standing on the fence here.

That first version is really quite good. Really expressive voice, great emotion. Regret is a really powerful emotion, one that can last for a long period of time and thus is well poised to be expressed in song. I enjoy the use of strings as a highlight to the mood of the song, yet let the piano lead as the main instrument. I think you really have to appreciate a vocalist that can play the piano as well -- honestly, no other instrument pairs as well with the human voice. There were moments I thought she really was connected with the song, but frankly the end seemed a little less honest -- she seemed to remember she is on live TV and needs to play towards the camera and crowd a tad. Just my impression.

The second version is for a much bigger stage, maybe bigger stakes being in front of a lot of her idols, but you don't hear the connection to the music. Especially at the beginning of the song, the emotion is really lacking. I don't feel the guitar adds that much to the song, and in many ways takes away as it muddles up the piano and her voice. Around the 2 minute mark it seems like she gets it, but the vocals are really lacking in depth. Ugh, I don't want that electric guitar in there at all. She seems to be very nervous. Then we remove the seatbelt and do a little mash-up... ok, that's ok... just ok... not liking her power vocals after that.

The first video was much, much better overall.

Here's a bit of a Demi Lovato/Taylor Swift mashup you might find interesting:

What side would Kid be on?

I can assume but you will have to get conformation from him.

I think we've all made the mistake of staying with someone that we probably shouldn't have, but we were getting it so we just overlooked a lot of incompatibilities and the like. Then time marches forward, and suddenly you're just stuck in the rut.....if you'll pardon the expression.

Or, maybe she just found out that they all had small penises. I mean, a pussy is a pussy (unless it's a stinky) but a dick is definitely not a dick. It kind of lends to my theory on why she started hanging out with rappers.

So in other words, maybe she's smart. or she could just be a raging whore. :P

Hank, we have a problem.

"ATLiens"

[Verse One: Big Boi]
Well it's the M - I - crooked letter, ain't no one better
And when I'm on the microphone you best to wear your sweater
Cause I'm cooler than a polar bear's toenails
Oh hell, there he go again talking that shit
Bend, corner's like I was a curve, I struck a nerve
And now you bout to see this Southern player serve
I heard it's not where you're from but where you pay rent
Then I heard it's not what you make but how much you spent
You got me bent like elbows, amongst other things, but I'm not worried
Cause when we step up in the party, like I'm out-you-scurry
So go get your fucking shine box, and your sack of nickles
It tickles to see you try to be like Mr. Pickles
Daddy fat sacks, B-I-G B-O-I
It's that same motherfucker that took them knuckles to your eye
And I try, to warn you not to test but you don't listen
Giving the shout out to my Uncle Donnel locked up in prison

[Chorus: Andre (repeat 2X)]
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Everybody let me hear you say Oh-Ye-Yer

[Verse Two: Andre]
Now, my oral demonstration be like clitoral stimulation
to the female gender, ain't nothing better
Let me know when it's wet enough to enter
If not I'll wait, because the future of the world depends on
Therefore, if not the child we raise gon' have that nigga syndrome
Or will it know to be the hard regardless of the skintone
I really feel that if we tune it, it just might get picked on
Or will it give a fuck about what others say and get gone
They alienate us 'cause we different keep your hands to the sky
Like Sounds of Blackness when I practice what a preach ain't no lie
I'll be the baker and the maker of the piece of my pie
Now breaker, breaker 10-4 can I get some reply?
Now everybody say...

[Chorus]

[Verse Three: Big Boi, Andre]
Everyday I sit while my nigga be in school
Thinking about the second album at the Dungeon shooting pool
Like E-S to the P-N, cause we adjust to the beat in the zone (zone)
Honey I'm home but I'm not married
Carried a lot of problems around being frustrated
And now I'm sitting at the end of the month I just made it
Like you made the B team
And like the daddy's wife you making the coffee
You heard the A-T-L-iens
So back the hell up off me

Softly as if I played piano in the dark
Found a way to channel my anger not to embark
The world's a stage and everybody's got to play their part
God works in mysterious ways so when he starts
the job of speaking through us we be so sincere with this here
No drugs or alcohol so I can get the signal clear as day
Put my glock away I got a stronger weapon
that never runs out of ammunition so I'm ready for war okay

[Chorus]
