forget that noise. This pick sucks simply because he was chosen at least 20 picks above his slot. Shit, you could have traded up to about the 10th pick in the second round if you simply HAD to have him.

The SIXTH OT in this draft. The EIGHT OL...AND YOU JUST HAD TO HAVE HIM.

Phil Emery isn't even getting a stadium deal done while walking on water.

If Long is a huge success, this is still a GM fail. Unless he had some knowledge that his guy would be gone, there's no reason you can't trade down and still get "your guy". I'm fine with Emery being the smartest scout in the room. But the smartest scout doesn't understand value. A GM should. You don't pick your crushes 5-70 picks ahead of where they will go. I really hope Emery proves me wrong.

Well put and spot on.

Why in the fuck can't he understand that? Maybe that's why he was a scout (and only a scout). He obviously doesn't know the first thing about being an astute GM.
