It's kind of sad listening to see a show die before your very eyes. I didn't realize the contribution of Jason was so integral to the show. Whether subliminal or overt, Jason kept the funny in check. Terry just doesn't care, and that's fine. But he should retire if he's not interested. I don't know how a radio partner could let the other guy hijack the show like Dan does. It's 85% Bernsie 15% Terry. That equals 100% BAD! It's not the fun, bad, silly, gay(their words) show anymore. It was the best when it was the little niche show that could. Back when Hood and Zampillo were producing it was fun and different. Now it's just meat grinder radio. Line up the trolls and let Dan shout them down. It's not all that different from what the Dr Laura show used to be. It used to be loose and funny. Now it's serious and groundbreaking. No thanks. Mock if you will, but the Mac & Spiegel show is my favorite thing to listen to. It's mostly for Mac, and I can tolerate Spiegel, though he is quite a douchebag at times. They have fun and don't take shit so damn seriously. I'm not looking for a sociopolitical debate on sports radio.

I don't get what's so admirable or necessary about making a public declaration about something everybody probably already knows and likely doesn't give a shit about. Some guy likes dudes? Fantastic. More guys should be into dudes. It makes things easier for those of us trying to hook up with women.

They keep assuming this guy is going to be playing basketball next year, he made this announcement at the very end of his career. Next year he'll be 35 and it will be his 13th year. He's also a bad player and averaged only 10 minutes and 1 point per game. His career may already be over.

I was going to chime in after your earlier post with a reference to "Mike North with a high dollar education." But the Dr. Laura reference is even more spot on. Terry has been reduced to the clown head at a Jack-In-The-Box: barely intelligible, limited in what he is or isn't going to say, and repeating himself incessantly. Loose and funny was what saved them in the past, the ability to rise above and laugh a little. Now it is too serious, with the tweets and emails, and the inability to talk what people are tuning in to listen. North thought he was bigger than sports and all things Chicago, Laura Berman wanted it both ways as being a constant scold and took positions just to be that scold (I still have the nude photos of her, tapable in her youth).

Early on in the show I was switching back and forth from ESPN OTL (thanks to a Sean Jensen tweet) as it just seemed that there were more commercials than usual. Jason Cole didn't want to dance with them, and to a great extent put it into context.

The Jackie Robinson comparison is the stretch that makes them a joke. The argument doesn't hold up.
