Having same-sex feelings may not have developed as a choice. But there is a choice in how you deal with it.

The choice is whether to believe that people do change and that sexual orientation is something that develops over time. The choice is whether to acknowledge that former gays do exist. The choice is whether to believe that it is a disorder and requires therapy. The choice is whether to have sex with members of the same sex when it is against God's law and the major religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The choice is whether to believe that marriage can be redefined to whatever suits popular culture. The choice is whether you call people who disagree with you bigots. The choice is whether to define homosexuality as a protected group such as race, religion or handicap. The choice is whether to redefine all the religions of the world and the Bible because you've had some great revelation that has been ignored for all of human history. The choice is whether to deny it is a sin to have sex outside of traditional marriage. The choice is whether to call homosexual sex sin. Ultimately, the choice is whether to call God and his followers liars.

Just because Jesus didn't mention homosexuality in the Bible doesn't mean that the other places where the Bible specifically forbids that behavior are null and void. He did say that if you look lustfully at a woman you commit adultery in your heart. The same could be said for lusting after a man. The Old Testament specifically forbids homosexually and the Apostle Paul says that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.

The bottom line is that we are all sinners. To follow Christ you have to call sin for what it is. God's grace is amazing, but you can't receive grace if you are not repentant or confessing your sin. The main thing that keeps people from God is their unwillingness to submit to him and his rules for their life.

Here's a question that never gets answered. For all the people that point to the Old Testament to condemn gays why do they conveniently ignore all that other stuff that's forbidden and allowed? Why is gayness the main sticking point? Why aren't more people pissed that people wear clothing with mixed fibers, eat shellfish, and are no longer legally allowed to own slaves? Why does it always come back to the gays?
