I tried the Left Coast Hop Juice a few weeks ago.

Bad.

I thought this was a thread about a "Hip Hop Juice Festival" in that there was some rap festival called "Juice" going down. Drat. Instead I'll just have to sit back and wait for Dr. Ken to tell his kids why they're protesting with the WBC tonight.

Maybe I'll give it another shot but the one I had was incredibly bitter and not in a good way.

Not a bad pull there with those bands.

Just found out that they are only going to be selling these in 12 oz. 6-packs. I don't think I like that.

Given what they were getting for the bombers, that would put the price at right around $26/sixer.

I hope there is some economy in bottling them as sixers.

Really? You've probably got $26 in change in the ashtray of your Mercedes.

Oh, I'll buy it. That is what I was paying for it anyway.

It just seems obscene when you think of it that way.

Hmmmm that does seem like an odd choice. No way its going to cost more than Stone's Ruination and that's at $18 a six pack.

Reminds me of when Bells SolSun had to be renamed Oberon. Hopefully this works out just as well in the end.

Well, you wouldn't think it would be much more than that.

But, then it seems that they are leaving money on the table unless the production costs are significantly lower to bottle a six-pack. I wouldn't think that would be the case but it may be. Or maybe they ran into capacity issues with all the specialty beers they've been releasing of late and maybe they plan to do others.

Or maybe they plan to bottle both 22oz. and 6-packs and I have it wrong but that's not how it reads on the website.

Revelry is like 15 dollars a 6 pack. I'd expect this to be similarly priced.

I liked Hop Juice black last year and thought the Hop Juice could have been better. I'm going to pass this year I think.

I went on Friday night. This was the first time I attended the fest at the Roundhouse. There is a ton more room there vs. the Warrenville location, so that was a huge plus. My friends and I all had regular tickets, which meant we had to stay outside with the rest of the commoners. My buddy went to the main doors, and asked if he could use the ATM. The first guy said no, that this was the VIP area. They were about to tell him that he couldn't spend more money on their beer, but another guy let him in to use the ATM. I love Two Brothers, but they always seem to do something that just isn't right.

We hung out by the "guest tap" tent. The Friday guest brewers were all from IL. I had product from Tighthead, Goose Island, Solemn Oath, and Destihl. The Hop Centric was delicious, as was the black variation, which is strangely still called Hop Juice Black. They had a "to go" area, so I bought a bomber of the Hop Juice Black.
