I kinda see what you mean, but players are a lot more important to the organ-I-zation that sideline reporters. I think in most companies it's not unusual for more valuable/higher skilled employees to get more leeway when it comes to certain things (or everything) than people who are less skilled and more easily replaced.

Thats fine and true but then they shouldnt be going with the whole " damaging to the organization " bullshit rhetoric as the justification for firing her.
