Definitely. Obviously, it's a hard thing, but if McGaughey keeps him in one piece it's hard to see anything that's going to beat him over the next five weeks. But a lot of shit can happen in a horse race. Something could get on the front end in one of these races and catch a speed-favoring track and that might be that for Orb.

I consider Animal Kingdom an extraordinary horse and the best he could do was a win in one leg and a second in another before being injured prior to the Belmont. That's how hard it is. I'd have a hard time saying Orb is a better horse than Animal Kingdom, but I do think he's more mature at the same stage of their careers and perhaps Orb is facing a slightly softer group.

Outstanding JORR.

I should have listened a little more, but I was on Revolutionary's and Goldencents' jock and didn't want to think of any other horses. And then the Vyjack odds made me greedy. WWN I'll have to sit down with you and JORR and learn how to make better bets.

Looking forward to the Preakness in 2 weeks. That's where I made my big money last year.

Good luck, boys!

I got down on Orb per your advice. Thanks, JORR!

Awesome! It's a damn shame Golden Soul got in there to bust up my trifecta. A good day nonetheless.

Oh, and I've been accused of being a bullshitter here before. Just in case anyone thinks I'm a smack talker:

Rosario is a smart jockey despite his age. He could feel that pace getting hot early and backed the horse off knowing that he was going to get a ton of mud in his face along the way. He waited long enough to have a ton of horse to swallow up the horses in front of him and be able to have enough to keep the horses coming from behind in their spot.

He was like Barbaro and Street Sense - a 5-1 favorite that did he was supposed to do. The Preakness might be his challenge as Pimlico is always a speed favoring track but if he stays close enough to the front, it should not be an issue. The horses that finished 2 and 3 at Churchill got a rail trip and couldn't touch him.

I like to trim them close. I do not care for a dirty fingernail.

Good wagering, JORR. I used Orb a decent amount in exactas (the wagers I posted fell apart when Black Onyx scratched) but didn't use Golden Soul in the second spot, so I struck out.

The only two closers worth a damn in that race were Orb and Normandy Invasion. Revolutionary will never get a setup like that again. I don't know that we learned anything about the forwardly placed horses. Governor Charlie, who I was intrigued by for the Derby, will also be interesting in the Preakness. But Orb will be a fair favorite.

I'm more disturbed by the MGD.

I like a good ol' American macrobrew. Besides, someone has to help pay for Fritzy's losers.
