Jeanne Cooper may have been best known for her role on "The Young and the Restless", but she was also a guest star on several other shows, too. 23 WWME, flagship of the MeTV Network, will air a pair of classic episodes of "Bonanza" & "The Big Valley" featuring Cooper as a guest star.

Cooper's role in a 1963 "Bonanza" episode entitled "She Walks in Beauty" airs first at 1P Thursday. She guest stars as Emilia Miller on that classic western. At 2P, a 1966 "Big Valley" episode called "Tunnel of Gold" with Cooper as Elaine Jason will follow on MeTV. It'll be that channel's tribute to Jeanne.

I think she was the answer to a Wally Phillips trivia question that Steve Dahl famously made fun of.

Back in HS when I broke my leg Kevin Ware style, I had to spend 2 weeks in the hospital before they would perform the surgery. Something about test results and my liver. I'm sure the fact that it occurred 48 hours after prom and I drank all forms of alcohol for 3 days prior had nothing to do with it. Anyway, this was back in the day when hospitals only carried 3 or 4 channels and NBA playoff games were tape-delayed on CBS. I was on morphine/Demerol and not only did I become addicted to them, I also got hooked on General Hospital, All My Children, Days of Our Lives and Another World.

Once I got out I had nothing to do but watch game shows and soaps all day. Had to get my priorities in check once I matriculated to NIU in the fall, so I based my schedule around Days of Our Lives only. My southside roommate quickly caught the bug as well. The floor in my dorm was co-ed, so there would be viewing parties in different rooms - one each for All My Children, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives and the Young and the Restless.

Next summer I got a gig with the local assessor's office measuring homes for property assessment purposes. People had just received their property assessments and would take their frustrations out on young Furious. Great real-world experience. By lunchtime I was pretty stressed, so having a buddy that lived in the area and smoked rope was ideal. Lunchtime became a Y&R viewing party in his parent's basement and they just looked the other way with all the dope smoking. Very bizarre for me since my parent's were pretty strict. That's all I got.

Great Halloween costume idea, except substitute Whip-Its for bullets.
