I don't believe he was a center in Toronto, I think he was a PF. He was a 22 and 10 guy before signing with the Heat. He peaked at 24 and 11 prior to leaving. How were there ten better players than him from, let's say, 2005-2010?

So I guess Vince Carter is a hall of famer?

And Chris Bosh must be better than James Worthy because Worthy only made 7 all star teams

Back to Jordan

He had a hall of fame top 50 player who dominated on defense and the best rebounder in basketball leading the league in rebounds.

Oh and Toni Kukoc

Well, if you believe in ALL NBA teams, he has ONE appearance in his career.... on the 2nd team.

Thats it

Vince Carter doesn't have 10 appearances. Chris Bosh will unless he retires after next year.

No. I never said that. Both deserve to be in the hall of fame.

Chris Bosh has ONE appearance on the All NBA teams. One time, he was considered a top 15 player.

No, you're just basing hall of fame credentials on all star voting, which is kinda silly.

Lebron
Kobe
Howard
Duncan
Garnett
Nowitski
Wade
Durant
Kidd
Melo

Off the top of my head.

Good list. I'd argue with you on Kidd since I think he was past his prime. I'd also wonder about Anthony; I don't think there's a whole lot of separation between Anthony and Bosh in terms of production. Anthony has more accolades, but they're both statistically productive.

So what? Dennis Rodman has two and both were on the third team. The point is that people who make 10+ all star appearances have always made the hall of fame.

I'm not basing it on anything. It's simple logic. If every person with 10+ all star appearances is in the hall of fame, and Bosh is very likely to have 10+ all star appearances, then he's a virtual certainty for the hall of fame.

That's unrealistic. The Bulls actually did lose games occasionally back then. Miami would steal at least two.

Horace Grant would shut down Chris Bosh like a faucet.

Pippen would make Bron Bron work his ass off just to get 25 a game.

Jordan would clamp down on Wade till he cried uncle.

Paxson would be dropping open threes like the US Air Force on Dresden.

Bill Cartwright would leave Haslem and Birdman in tears. Literally.

Rick, do you agree that Wade and Pippen cancel each other out in this comparison?

So what?

It's a much better barometer than the fan voted all star teams.

Speaking of Wade, is it unnecessary nitpicking to fault him for not developing a three point shot? I remember Rose adding one to his arsenal a couple years ago, and I don't know why a player like Wade wouldn't develop that capability to make him even more dynamic than he is/was.

I'd probably give the edge to Pippen.

You don't seem to be grasping what I am saying. I'm not saying that 10+ all star appearances makes you a better player than someone who didn't get that many. I'm saying that if you do that, then you get in to the hall of fame because literally every person who has done it has gotten in or will get in. I'm sure there is some number of All NBA teams that indicates the same thing but not being on that list doesn't mean you aren't getting in. There are a lot of hall of famers that didn't get 10 all star games. There are no people that got 10 all star games that aren't in it already or will be eventually.

Now, maybe Bosh will be the first person, but I highly doubt that especially if the Heat do what is expected the next two years.

Im grasping it fine. I think Bosh will be a hall of famer.

Im talking about how good of a player he is. The ALL NBA team is a good barometer of that.

So you give the edge to Pippen. Ok.

So basically the difference between Jordan and LeBrons teams is the difference between Bosh and Grant/Rodman?

If such a matchup were ever to occur a big part of the outcome would be determined on how the game was called. The NBA games were called a lot different when those Bulls teams played. Now if you breathe on a star player you get a foul and they don't call traveling or charges on LeBron James.

That's just simply not true at all.

YouTube is a wonderful thing. I've watched hours and hours of old Bulls games. You should reeducate yourself on a few things instead of generalizing.

Maybe I should have said carried. It's illegal to turn the ball over the way he did all the time and you know it. You aren't supposed to be able to cup the ball like that. Plus they gave him about an extra step and a half when he went to the hoop. I'm not saying LeBron doesn't get that. It seems to be part of the way an NBA game is called.

It's completely factual. Basketball rules don't allow a player to dribble the ball from underneath. NBA rules do.

What's not factual is your charge that Michael Jordan supposedly carried the ball on every trip to the basket. Go back and watch a game or two.

Why wouldn't a guy travel if he's allowed to? He'd be idiotic not to, wouldn't he? Jordan constantly turned the ball over on the dribble. The NBA might accept that, but that doesn't mean it isn't a carry.
