Due to work obligations and other things, I haven't been able to listen to the time slot B&B as much as I used to (mercifully). These two, particularly Dan have done what would have once been the impossible and driven me away from The Score. Been a loyal Score guy since day 1, I've finally had enough of these guys and will not listen anymore. The few moments I have had to listen to these guys, it's the same thing day after day. Dan picking on callers who say "we" when referencing their team or making a huge ordeal if someone says something like, "I went to the game..." Danny cuts the caller off and starts yelling that it doesn't matter. I don't understand why he gets so fired up about this stupid shit, makes for an impossible listen.

I've been listening to the guys on ESPN more often, even though I cannot stand the ESPN brand and what they stand for. The hosts are vanilla and they don't say anything controversial/edgy but at least they treat their audience with respect and talk sports. They don't come across as miserable people who loathe their job so they will get my attention from now on, pretty much by default.

Maybe I'm off base but it seems like Bernstein has gotten into Mike North territory or worse in terms of his ego. I get that the Joe Pa thing was possibly the biggest scandal in the history of college sports but Jesus Christ, I didn't need to get this crap crammed down my throat for three months straight (probably could've chosen my words better). I don't want to turn on sports radio and hear some tool rail against Christianity. I don't want to turn on sports radio to listen to some dork preach about gay rights or other social issues for weeks on end. I could handle it once in a while but it's too much with Bernstein, almost like he's above talking sports.

I'm curious to see how the ratings shake out over the next year. These guys seem hell-bent on pissing everyone off who listens to their show. We'll see how this formula works out in the long run.

Leave now?

Dan's son is about to invent time travel.

Terry's guy is about to give us an inside scoop.

Maddux_boy is about to pull his nose out of B&B asses to see the outside world for the first time in years.

In conclusion, they make money for the station. Money talks and Milt Rosen is not going to slap the hands that make the money.

Milt Rosenberg would, but I don't think Mitch Rosen will.

No need to proclimate your choices. I am kinda done with the show as well, but it's not a premeditated choice I make. I have noticed the 30-45 minutes the show takes to get started I usually tune out.

I think Larry has infected the BB thought process. The half hour opening statements, of guests, bits, sponsors, emails, twitter, phone numbers, etc. plus commercials, I usually turn off the radio these days.

I like the show, but it appears the show doesnt start these days until 2:30!

Plus, I need the time travel machine instructions emailed to me

We're so busy at work that I can barely listen to much of anything until half of the show is over. \

Tannehill has been solid though.

Just because they get good ratings doesn't mean they couldn't do better. I always find that to be an odd response to any sort of constructive feedback. Unless you have 100% market share for the 18 - 55 demographic, you should always be striving for more.

They're just bad guys. Both of them are just miserable assholes. I want entertainment when I turn on the radio not mean spirited crap.

I gave up on the morning show about two years ago and B&B about 18 months ago. The B&B show was an easy call as I didn't need anymore Sandusky, CTE, Lance talk. It was unbearable. I am amazed that they could drive someone like me away who had been listening to the Score and ESPN for over 15 years, and I remain a sports nut.

I don't think so?

I don't mean the 100% thing literally, but that should be the mindset for anyone in any field if they take pride in it, right? I find B & B to be particularly guilty of this because the show's strengths would remain even if they changed their outlook completely. I find it hard to believe that anyone tunes in to hear Dan be an asshole. However, the traits that make Dan an asshole are also his strengths as a radio host, and they could still be utilized by being analytical and challenging the status quo. I feel strongly that even though they have a large market share, they could do even better if they tried.

BigFan, I really enjoy your site and thought this would be a good place to voice my frustrations on this show, specifically in this section (B&B).

LoHo doesn't bother me so much, He's a dork and at times has some Bernsie in him but he can also be pretty cool with his audience other times.

didnt mean you shouldnt post it. My radio used to be on the Score all day. whatever was on, I ended up listening to until that show become tiresome and I PTFB.

Larry was the first to get me to PTFB. I don't hate the guy, I just think he isn't close to entertaining, interesting and he is a complete poser.

I stated my BB reasons. I understand the dislike of BB by many, the show needs some fresh blood, but they extend out some stuff (like the open) to such a production, I just leave the station.

So take Larry, White Sox Games, Rongi's White Sox Excuse Shows and BB opens...thats a big chunk of the Score.

As soon as transition with Mac & Spiegs ends, I PTFB following the John Feinstein "CBS Sports Minute" and listen to something else. I'll get news for about 90 minutes on WBBM Newsradio, including the daily commentary from Dave Ross at 1:42P, and then listen to...Garry Meier on 720 WGN if there's no Cubs' game preempting. Garry has grown on me, and he's very entertaining unlike Weezey & Boo-Boo as ex-Sun-Times' reporter Jim O'Donnell referred to Terry & Dan a while back.

The guys constant attacks on Derrick Martell Rose and their continuing refusal to have a doctor educate them and listeners regarding Derrick's long recovery from a torn ACL has turned me off.

They want to talk sports but only begrudgingly. If they can find a social issue that has a sports slant to it they latch on an drain it to death. I used to like Boers as a columnists and I used to thoroughly enjoy him when he was with Dan McNeil. But his pairing with Bernstein has shown him to be increasingly bitter. He is not very funny anymore and his interest in talking sports is minimal. They rarely speak to callers unless it is to lambast them. It has become an almost unbearable listen. I think that one of the things that hurts the medium as a whole is that the listeners are more sophisticated than they used to be.

I think Dave can be really funny with his commentaries, whether on his own at 1:42P weekdays or subbing occasionally for the bow-tie wearing Charles Osgood in the AM with the "Osgood Files".

Congrats on your decision to not listen. I agree with everything you say except for one thing--I came to this this conclusion a couple of years ago. These are two of the most annoying, miserable f***ing d'bags I've ever heard on any broadcast medium. A person who enjoys sports for what it is and continues to listen to these two pricks must have some kind of serious self-loathing issues or something.

I'm with you on Meier, SHARK. He's a good listen. I just wish there wasn't a traffic, weather and news break for every 3 minutes of show. Also am enjoying Talk Of The Nation from NPR.

I used to love the B and B midday show. Now I hear Dan screech about some injustice during Transition and it's PTFB time. Too bad.

Exactly what I have said. "Meirs" is still one of my all-time favorite funny guys on radio but the breaks every few minutes are unbearable.

Yep, Meier and Brandmeyer have been added to my rotation.
