Couldn't have had a nicer night to watch the Cubs at least. Never a bad time when the weather is like that

With your love of how the board used to be before people like rpb and Terry's Peeps ruined it with not every post being mean and spiteful you would enjoy it.

I've moved on. And again, I'm sorry if the active topics was all goofed up for anyone yesterday.

Very very slow in the industry right now. Kinda sucks. Debating about having a Memorial Day BBBBQ next weekend.

That is part of it. And a lot of people take vacations because the kids are out of school. Still though, pretty brutal right now industry and company wide.

You're welcome.

Which was worse, the horrible baseball, or the douche nozzle in front of us wearing a cowboy hat made out of what appeared to be an empty 12 pack of Coors Light?

Bro Broerson was good theater.

He was every stereotype of a Wrigley frat boy douchebag.

The disgusting moms douchebag thread has some good stuff, too.

All things considered, the feud didn't escalate the way I had hoped. :(

1.) The board was a little scary yesterday. Probably the reason a lot of people choose to stay away. I mean, I dig it, but I'm strange..

b.) I'm starving right now. These honey roasted peanuts ain't gonna cut it.

In conclusion, this should be a really, really, really, good day....nahmsayin?

I think I'm gonna go to CVS and grab some Grandma's vanilla cookies. That should tide me over for a couple of hours.

april 16 2004, it was a friday and after cashing a paycheck at 9 in the morning and taking care of my chemical obligations, instead of going home i decided to get dropped off in wrigleyville in time for those goofy 2:20 friday starts. i waited til like 7min b4 first pitch for some kid scalping tickets by the 7-11 to try and sell me a $40-50 ticket in the ~120 mez but i had a handy $20 in my pocket and i was like "all i got is this dub man i ain't need to see no baseball" and after a couple mins he relented. i busted ass inside and pretty much seated by the ~4th pitch or something.

i have this archaic tradition passed down by my uncle (~50 games/yr between cubs/brewers) where i get a scorecard and keep score. my collection of scorecards not only reminds me of the actual games i went to, but a lot of the minutiae like, if i stop keeping score in the 5th inning i might remember the story where i met so and so and ended up having whatever misadventures. so i had my scorecard, and surprisingly enough some dude and his attractive presumed/GF were next to my seat and she was mystified by the whole scorekeeping thing so i was actually teaching her how to keep score throughout the early part of the game.

but frat row was indeed behind me. 4-5 guys who made cheap t-shirts with one of them in a goofy position cuz it was his birthday and they all took the day off of work to celebrate it and whatnot. they're drinking heavily and all HEY FAGGOT-ing it up, cuz the keeping score thing amuses them. one of their caterwauls was "HEY burrito HOW'S YOUR FANTASY BASEBALL TEAM DOING?!?!?" so i kind of raised up a middle finger and said "first place" (it actually was at the time too) and well, moreso than they even watched the game they were just HEY FAGGOT-ing it up, and of course dropping $100+ on stadium beers in their stupid shirts.

the best part was by the bottom of the 7th inning they were all stone cold passed out drunk. i got some ketchup packets and soiled their shirts (nobody around me minded cuz they had really pissed off everyone around them and it was a minor miracle those pudgy guys in cubs polos didn't descend upon them) and of course, with the cubs down a run in the bottom of the 9th they missed sosa and alou going back to back to tie and win the game. awesomely spectacular ending, and fittingly the most vocally hetero guys in the park didn't see it cuz they were all passed out and leaning on each other. way to celebrate a birthday
