They do get hot at the right time. The SEC tourney is really going to be something this year. I hope ESPNU shows a lot of those games.

Agreed. Wholeheartedly. Watching the games this season, I'm thinking about making a road trip down to Baton Rouge for Vandy/LSU next year(If it's rainy/cold & early enough).

I was at a Vandy game earlier this year, pretty nice college stadium. I would love to Jr. down to Arkansas some time, that place is incredibles from the photos and seeing it on TV. I also heard from people who played down there and against them, that it is the best placed they played.

It's bad enough that I love SEC football, but now following baseball down there, with 8K fans at every ballpark for damn near every game, my kids all want to go down there now. In a perfect world, I'd love to start a 10-14 day trip at Arkansas with their beautiful & packed park, hit Vandy (whose fans were as engaging as any I've ever encountered at the CWS 2 yrs. ago) and then finish at Baton Rouge....in a tricked out RV.

When's the next lottery drawing?!?

That sounds like a great trip but you may have to find your way to South Carolina too. My cousin played in the SEC and he said LSU was by far the best place to play. He was a little 2B from up north with a funny name. He said those fans were all over him. He also said Ole Miss was the best place for..ahem...after game activities.

I unquestionably want to hit South Carolina for a series. Especially since that program has committed to signing talent from all over the country. Even moreso than the ol' Ball Coach does  :D

When they started selling out whole SEASONS 3-4 yrs. ago, I was pleasantly stunned.

It is one of my favorite sports and yes I know I am in the minority. College baseball has really grown over the last 10 years and yes 1 day I will make it out to Omaha for the week.

Reader I hope the boys are doing well and have a great season.

Same to you. Hawg Jr. is now what 13 or 14? Nothing like watching your son make the moves & adjust to 54/80 & finally to 60/90.

Until you realize that your 15 yr can make all the throws in the infield...and you can't.

14, and I hear ya. I went to throw batting practice to him on Sunday morning and hit him 4 times.

He said of that shit and asked if I would underhand toss to him. :D

I was disappointed Arkansas lost the 1st game, but they whipped their ass the next 2. Stanek is now 7-1 and really looking like the pitcher he was supposed to be.

Also, Hawg Jr.'s teacher is a assistant coach with Wisconsin-Milwaukee they just won the Horizon League over the weekend, they don't have a bad team at all and they are young.

Illinois improved it's chances to get an at-large bid to the field of 64 with a win at Minnesota last night. Kevin Duchene (Joliet Catholic) defeated possible first round pick Tom Windle 6-2. Duchene (8-1) set an Illinois record for victories by a Freshman and moved into a tie for most victories in the Big 10.

That's a big win for your boys, Hawger. It keeps their hosting hopes alive.

I was following the Razorback blog live, should have won it earlier. Bases loaded 2 outs and a ground ball headed to right field hit the foot of a base runner.

By far Astin's best start, so you suspect Stanek or Fant next?

They have to come back with Stanek especially if they play LSU. Winning that game would really put them in the drivers seat.

That's going to be a real good one, Hawger. I wish it were on TV. Nola is a surefire first rounder next year. Maybe a top 10 pick.

If you can get ESPN3, it will be on there.

What a win tonight by the Hogs, Stanek went 8 innings and gave up 1 unearned run. Actually watched it on tv. Their pitching is sick. Wished the Brewers had it.

Stanek is starting to dominate at the right time again, Hawger. That's really good to see. What channel was the game on? I checked ESPNU and they didn't list any games.

I was at a bar and it was on Sportssouth, they have a sports package and I found it. I was watching last night at home on ESPN3, which isn't bad.
