With all due respect to the Mamas & the Papas, and SHARK morphing into Dick Biondi, the White Sox are indeed California Dreamin' this weekend. A 4 game series with the Anaheim Angels starts this eve at Angel Stadium less than a week after the Angels won 2 out of 3 at U.S. Cellular Field in a brief 3 game homestand.

Here are the mound matchups:

TONIGHT: 9:05P, Comcast SportsNet Chicago & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 62 Jose Quintana (LHP; 2-1, 3.72 ERA) vs. ANA: 57 Jerome Williams (RHP; 2-1, 3.06 ERA)

FRIDAY: 9:05P, CSNC & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 49 Chris Sale (LHP; 4-2, 2.88 ERA) vs. ANA: 33 C.J. Wilson (LHP; 3-2, 3.88 ERA)

SATURDAY: 3:05P, FOX32 (MLB on FOX) & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 53 Hector Santiago (LHP; 1-2, 2.23 ERA vs. ANA: 55 Joe Blanton (RHP; 0-7, 6.46 ERA)

SUNDAY: 2:35P, CSNC & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
CHW: 44 Jake Peavy (RHP; 5-1, 2.96 ERA) vs. ANA: 60 Jason Vargas (LHP; 2-3, 4.03 ERA)

SHARK, you should be starting threads for more worthy lost causes.

Like Mike and Mike.

Looking like the Sox take at least 3 of 4.

Yeah, they'll probably lose Sunday to winless guy with a 6+ ERA.

Don't choke on a ham sandwich this weekend, SHARK!

It's the best I could come up with on short notice. Besides, the next question facing the Anaheim Angels is how much longer Mike Scioscia will continue to manage that underachieving team.

Even though he has a long term deal with the Angels through 2018, New York Daily News' MLB scribe Bill Madden was a guest on "The Dan Patrick Show" a couple of days ago. Madden thinks that the other underachieving team in that market, the Los Angeles Dodgers, might try to lure Scioscia as Don Mattingly's possible replacement in the dugout at Dodger Stadium. Madden says that should Mattingly get his walking papers, the Dodgers are going to want a marquee name to fill out the lineup card there. He says Scioscia, a former Dodgers' catcher in the '80s, would be ideal.

I was referring to the fact that the White Sox are a lost cause. Mike and Mike in the morning is also a lost cause, but a more worthy one. Continue on, SHARK!

Nothing wrong with the title, SHARK, but its not short notice. This MLB schedule has been in place since January.

Frank, you have a good point. I could've called it "California Nightmarin'", but it doesn't sound or look nearly the same.

It's not my stand! The Dodgers spent a lot of $$$$ in the offseason. They're not getting the bang for their buck and are a last place team in the National League West right now.

They say you can't fire the players. It's the manager that ultimately takes the fall, and right now, Don Mattingly might pay the price if they continue to underachieve. I'm just the messenger!

Well, this reporter (me) has it on very good authority that New York Daily News' MLB scribe Bill Madden got his information directly from your tweeter account, upon which you started the rumor that Don Mattingly should be fired.

Despite the latest rumblings, Angels' Owner Arte Moreno claims Scioscia's job is safe, but stay tuned.

I see what you did there. "Stay Tuned" was the name of a John Ritter comedy movie, some 8 years after "Three's Company" left ABC in 1984. This comedy movie, also starring Pam Dawber from "Mork & Mindy", came out in 1992.

I mentioned at the start of this thread that Saturday's White Sox/Angels' game will be on "MLB on FOX" at 3:05P. The Tim McCarver Retirement Tour will be in Anaheim calling this game with Kenny Albert.

As for tonight, here's your Sox lineup:
30 Alejandro "Back in the Leadoff Spot" De Aza CF (L)
10 Alexei "I Like Hitting Here" Ramirez SS (R)
51 Alex "So Do I" Rios RF (R)
32 Adam "Do I Go Deep Again Tonight?" Dunn 1B (L)
14 Paul "I'd Like To Play 1B Again, RV" Konerko DH (R)
12 Conor "More Playing Time for Me When Beckham Returns?" Gillaspie 3B (L)
24 Dayan "Tank You Very Much" Viciedo LF (R)
7 Jeff "Bench Time Approaching?" Keppinger 2B (R)
21 Tyler "Hector Who?" Flowers C (R)
Starting Pitcher: 62 Jose Quintana (LHP; 2-1, 3.72 ERA)

Agreed. He's just an old school guy who hasn't figured out that you don't run when your lineup has Trout, Pujols, and Hamilton in it. A Sox sweep gets him fired. Don't stop now, boys!

That was a nice win last night by the White Sox.

#7 Jeff Keppinger, Miami, FL

With a very real possibility that Keppinger might end up on the bench when 2B Gordon Beckham returns to the active roster possibly during the Sox next homestand, Jeffrey did a couple of nice things last night. With the bases loaded in the Top 8th, Jeffrey walked for the first time all season and got the second of 2 RBI's he got last night in the #8 spot in RV's lineup. His walk turned out to be the game winner in the Sox 5-4 win over the Anaheim Angels.

Keppinger also made a solid defensive stop off the bat of his counterpart Howie Kendrick to rob Kendrick of what would've been his 3rd hit in the bottom 8th to end the inning.

3 hits in an inning would have been a record.

Howie Kendrick went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's in last night's game for Anaheim.

I realize it's Armed Forces Day, but I'm of the opinion that camouflage should never appear on a sporting uniform outside the realm of hunting.

The Padres get an exemption, due to the proximity to the base... and the fact their uniforms are gawd-awful to begin with.
