Are you still at the same location or did you leave when they changed it to a GAP?

I really question whether that whole "air The 700 Club in perpetuity" covenant would hold up in court. Besides, couldn't they just liquidate the channel and create a new one with no CBN lineage?

Simmer down SHARK. My query was directed towards Mini Ditka not you.

I don't think he's a misogynist. Misogynists are more like men who look at *** and see women solely as an object to fulfill their sexual desires.

The lady who wrote in said that her husband cheated on her and she's trying to forgive him. Robertson said that he's a man and that men tend to wander. He said she should make her home a place where her husband would not want to wander from her.

I think you're reading more into this than what's there. He didn't say that the husband had any right to cheat on her or that it was her fault that he cheated on her. The statement that "he's a man" did not say it's okay for him to be a cheater, but it was suggesting that men are sinful and have a natural inclination to cheat. He was just suggesting that the wife invest in her relationship if she is worried about her husband cheating again. The reporting on this whole thing is irresponsible because these talking heads make all these comments and they don't even read the comments in context.

I'm not saying that you have any right to have an affair if your wife is fat or doesn't get along with you, although some might use that to justify an affair. But good advice to everyone is to invest in their marital relationship, so that cheating never becomes a viable option. What many people say is that spouses cheat because of emotional issues. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. But if you are cultivating an unhealthy relationship that is your responsibility to change that as a man or a woman.

He advises women to “look pretty” and “look alert” to keep their husbands’ attention. He underlined his view by relating a story about an “awful looking” woman who approached her pastor for marital advice. She stated that her husband had developed a drinking problem.

Pat Robertson is the guy the that engaged in the very behavior you mentioned above.

And as far as the second point in bold, Pat Robertson said that for you. No need for you to repeatit for him.

I'm not sure why you try to keep deflecting his behavior with strawomen and non sequiturs.

The problem with this thread is that it's all out of context. The bit about the woman with the husband and the drinking problem was a story told in January and it was a separate comment unrelated to this comment. The point was similar, but to lump them together is irresponsible. Like I said before these media articles and clips do not provide any context or a transcript of what was said.

The problem with this thread is that anyone would defend the idiocy coming out Robertson's mouth.

His comments are ridiculous in general, but even moreso when you account for the fact that he claims to be a man of ***

Out of context? Oh....that is rich.

Robertson isn't a douchebag of the week, he's a douchebag. Plain and simple.

Your defense of him is puzzling and borderline idiotic. It's OK to admit you're wrong and move on.

Go to this link and watch the clip from 49:24-52:10 and then tell me what you think the context is.

I think you probably went to college but still post opinions about a comment that you didn't watch the original clip of.

As long as the husband provides for you and takes the kids to sporting events, get over the cheating.

I thought the generational curse and witchcraft bit before was more useful.

Putting together two instances where someone shows mysoginistic behavior, in order to prove that point, is called logical.

To be unwilling to see that fact is illogical.

To be unable to comprehend that you are claiming a man is not mysoginistic when he acts and speaks in that manner, is bewildering.

You're saying that Pat hates women. That's what misogyny is. What was it about his comments that suggested that he hated women?

Nope, he just enjoys drinking boilermakers so much that he named himself after them.

Misogyny is manifested in many different ways like denigrating of women and the sexual objectification of women. His comments in any context achieve that end. And he appears to have believed this for most of his life. Without any biblical justification for it either.

Have you forgotten that I started this thread because Robertson gave tacit approval to men who have sex with someone other than their wife? How does this justify anything Robertson said?

I don't think he approves of someone committing adultery or that he hates women. I think if you got that from what he said then you're jumping to false conclusions.
