Kid definitely did. I think Ivan, Drop In, donspiracy and myself did as well. But Kid is certainly on record about it.

If I didn't write it, I'd be surprised.

But OKC was definitely at the head of the charge on that one.

Yeah, the difference was evident after about a week. Just wasn't the same.

Tannehill is far and away the best sound man in the history of that show, but Goff brought personality and a different perspective. Whereas B&B often both appear out of touch, Goff challenged them, corrected them, and added to conversations. Hell, half the time when talking about football and basketball, Terry and Dan didn't even know players' names. They'd say something like, "That guy from the Redskins", and then Goff would quickly chime in with the name. Now that they don't have that buffer, the show is just "Preach preach preach" because it's what they're good at now and they don't really have to do much thinking.

I understand a lot of people didn't agree with some of his opinions (U.S. Cellular field, NBA bums, etc), but what host hasn't presented an opinion that people disagree with at some point?

I've previously mentioned the fun factor as well. Again, I understand that some people weren't entertained by him, but most B&B fans would agree that Goff brought a lightheartedness that died immediately when he left. I know that B&B had already gotten preachy during Goff's tenure (sometime in 2009), but that preachiness has increased two-fold in the last seven months. Goff knew how to bring the tension level back down in order to counteract Bernstein's insufferably miserable hosting style.

just another indicator that your bullshit meter should be on high any time they pretend to be an expert:

On Friday they were analyzing NBA draft possibilities. Adams, the center from Pitt, came up and was immediately dismissed. Today in the Sun Times I read that he starred at the Combine after being measured at a legitimate 7' and knocking down mid range jumpers.

I know they would never say it but I assume their knowledge of the guy extended no farther than a big, white guy from Pitt and they immediately equated him with Gray. That didn't stop them from opining.

I think at this point, it's pretty much common knowledge that they don't really know much about basketball. I doubt either of them have seen the guy play.

I don't listen to the show nearly half as much as I used to.

Goff was the third host. He didn't drive the show.......but it sure as hell seemed like it. When things "fall off the tracks" now, they just seem to stay there.

I vacillate heavily on whether Goff's departure made the show so bad or if it was already heading that way and his leaving just sped it up, but this is a really good way of putting it. "Falling off the tracks and staying there" is it.

Goff would not have allowed the Jason Collins episode (my personal jumping-off point) to become as bad as it did. That, in my opinion was worlds worse than Sandusky/Paterno because even though they beat the Sandusky topic to death, they were actually right. The Collins show was Bernstein being as obnoxious as he's ever been about a topic that is closer to being shades of gray than black and white.

I don't listen as much anymore due to Waddle and Silvy moving to afternoons, but I hadn't been listening as much anyway. I enjoy the transition, but then after B&B start their show around 1:30, I can only take a good 30-60 mins of them.

Same. Transition Terry is good stuff. McNeil knows how to get Terry engaged.

I didn't hear much of the Collins show. Which were the issues that were shades of grey?

Bernstein: Either you are

100% for gay marriage

or

100% bigot

Choose wisely, Tad...

My bad. I thought RPB answered appropriately.

Basically, Bernstein's theme song was if you have any opposing stance to Jason Collins being some kind of hero, especially if your views are religiously influenced, that makes you a bigot.

Oh and I forgot to add...

If you dont think Jason Collins is equal to Jackie Robinson, the Westboro Baptist Church speaks for YOU

I had to keep my word. I said that the moment this show started to really bother me, I would bounce. I did. There are way too many good radio shows/podcasts out here now to get hung up on a show that doesn't seem to want to entertain anymore...

Maybe I'll check in somewhere down the line

YES, IT IS YOUR BAD!

I have RPB on ignore so I didn't see his post. Fuck that guy, amirite?

Bernsie being a troll even before invoking the name of Westboro Baptist. Now that you mention it, I do remember people talking about that. Trolling or not, that's just embarrassingly stupid.

Just kidding...I don't have RPB on ignore.

Thanks, Kid.

Yeah. I think when the show was still fun, I was able to overlook things like these. But now that they dominate the show, it's pretty much impossible to get away from.

And you should have RPB on ignore.
