If you don't want to die in a tornado, THEN MOVE AWAY FROM TORNADO ALLEY! It's really as simple as that.

Makes me wonder why he wants to give money to these obviously, stupid people.

There are no NHL teams in Oklahoma, only an NBA team, so it is literally impossible for racists to reside in the state.

A lot of college football fans though.

Yes that is a sticky wicket, but as long as they don't aid and abet a serial child rapist I'd be willing to bet that Dan would forgive their ignorance for following a clearly inferior brand of sports entertainment. At least under the current circumstances. Had the tornado hit Pennsylvania...well I don't know.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin said Tuesday that her state will rebuild, and she asked for prayers to aid the rescue and recovery.
”Will we be back? Absolutely. Oklahoma has gone through this a couple times, and we’re resilient, strong, courageous people,” Fallin said on “Good Morning America.”

The Republican governor continued: “Oklahoma people are very strong, and they will make it through this, but we’re going to need a lot of prayer and a lot of support to get back on our feet.”

That's been my biggest issue with Dan's absolute "send money, prayers do nothing" stance. On the surface, I agree. But his delivery...well, that's Dan. Then you have the actual people affected by the disaster saying to send prayers. I need a pick me up. How about a conversation with between Dr. Ken and his children?

Dan is just being his usual trolling dick to get a bible thumper to call in. Sure money is needed. Whether you believe or not a prayer or thought certainly won't do any harm. I imagine many will do both.

She obviously has no idea what's really going on in Oklahoma.

I believe sports radio hosts and bloggers/pizza delivery guys know best.

Wow! Danny Jr. weighing in. I'm shocked this is his sentiment.

Hey Baffoe! Go stick your rectal duct in front of a Symbian!

OMG! I can't believe TFM quoted Bernstein's stance exactly! Now I've seen everything...

I believe Dan's angst is for those who make the generic "thoughts and prayers" comment -- but there's the rub. He cannot have it both ways -- Prayers for assistance could be helpful, thoughts about posting links to web sites or telling people where to donate blood are also helpful.
While I agree with Dan's original premise, "a generic comment isn't a reason to puff out one's chest and feel like they've lended a hand", it will get lost by those that see Bernsie as a wise-cracking, care-nothing windbag -- those numbers grow by the second.
It's hard to balance indignant blowhole with good samaritan.

See, Mojito, you know the score.

Enough with the reflexive defense of any Bernstein criticism. When you think about it, you end up agreeing with the criticism anyway

Well, would you agree he loses credibility when he says those people who walk across the country with goat for charity should be shot, then in the next breath plugs his next One Step event?

Every time I go to a wake, instead of giving the grieving family a hug, I slip the lead mourner a lucky C note and walk away without saying a word. I don't even bother looking at the corpse cause fuck em, he's dead. I'm not wasting my time on a fleshy paper weight.

I have been immersed in Mad Men podcasts lately and haven't been listening.

Is there something that Dan Bernstein needs us to talk to our children about?

Couldn't hurt to talk your children about donating their MONEY instead of foolish PRAYERS that don't do anything. And that's it okay to have your home repeatedly destroyed by tornadoes, but it is NOT okay to live in a flood zone or crime-riddled part of the city. Your children's allowances should be sent to:

Oklahoma Tornado Victims
124 Broken Arrow Way
Norman, OK 53845

C'mon; haven't his kids vomited enough already?
