some of the city guys I am sure are aware of the facility on Lincoln. I have had the daisy cutter and it was OK, wouldn't order it again.

But what is with the lines outside the place in the middle of the day? I have heard the fill up a 'Grog" of beer ? (1 gallon?) for a $1 or something? Or is it a new beer day?

Whatever it might be, a line of 100 people on a Tuesday at 12 PM is quite impressive, unless they are just giving away free beer, but then I would assume to see more a homeless crowd.

Galactic Daisy Cutter (double IPA) was released yesterday for purchase. It's a limited run that probably sold out yesterday.

Still impressive to have the long line, for a Beer release. During the week, middle of the day.

I don't particularly like Half Acre's products. The owners seemed appreciative and willing to engage their customers, which is logical but kind of novel in the hipster food world.

but honestly, the fuck is anyone waiting in a long line for beer in this country like a communist block bread line in the 1980s. Even if it is worth it, it isn't worth it.

This past Saturday a friend wanted to try Parson's Chicken & Fish on Armitage and Humbolt. It's a glorified diner that opened three days earlier on a Wednesday. The wait was 3 hours. Woof.

Fill up a grog?? Grog I believe was a term used on British Naval ships or something where they would have to water down the drink so the sailers wouldn't get shitfaced so fast. Growler are gallonish jugs that get filled though.

Does Illinois do a big beer festival? I have been to Ohio Brew Week which was awesome and my friends have been to the Michigan Beer Festival which they have said was great as well. I saw the posts Doug made about that Chicago festival but that seemed like it was aimed more at marketing the breweries than celebrating great beer and the consumption of great beer.

I don't know if there is a state sanctioned one but there are several throughout the year. This week is Chicago Craft Beer Week and alot of events going on around the city and burbs.

Half acre sucks. Everyone there was very nice but their product is not good. I'll take Revolution any day of the week over Half Acre.

And I'd much rather read anything Chus or the regulars in the beer threads have to say over the douchebags on Beer Advocate. I used to think that was a cool site but they take themselves waaaay to seriously over there.

Honestly, I don't get out enough, or try enough new product to write a worthwhile blog. And, there are people here that share as much, if not more, good info than I do. Occasionally, I will get out to World of Beer, or the Bavarian Lodge, but 90% of my pub stops are at Two Brother's, since I can walk there.

"Usually not an asshole" is a pretty good way to describe me. Maybe I will have that etched on my tombstone.
