Considering the Bears got precisely jack squat shit out of Colombo during his Bears tenure, I think he fully qualifies for this list. Just because he went on to become useful doesn't invalidate the fact that he was a bust for the Bears.

DT 1- Pat Riley

He was a DT out of Miami (Fl). The Bears took him in the second round despite him being injured his senior season. Despite this injury that still wasn't healed by draft day, brilliant young coach Wannie just had to have him. I believe he was one of his guys when he coached at the U. Anyway, the guy never recovered from that injury. I don't believe he played a down of NFL football. I have forever soured on coaches being the GM after that.

I think you gotta go with Micheal Haynes over Adams in Dewskie's list. Haynes was a first rounder who did nothing. Adams was acquired for a second or third round pick, and unfortunately we will never know what he could have done here. Haynes was a higher priced investment that indisputably returned nothing.

I need a ruling on this one. Former Bears' OT Marc Colombo was taken with the #29 pick in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He suffered a dislocated patella & femoral nerve damage in a November 18th game his rookie season vs. the Rams & missed nearly 2 seasons with the Bears in 2003 and much of 2004 before getting waived in 2005.

Colombo resurfaced in Dallas at the end of that season and spent 5 seasons there before getting released in 2011, resurfacing in Miami & then retired a calendar year later as a Cowboy in 2012.

Is Colombo an all-time Bears' Bust?

How about NOT getting Terry Bradshaw #1 in 1970 because of a coin flip after each team was 1-13 in 1969? And why did the Bears not draft again until the third round in which they also passed over Mel Blount? Correction....he was drafted one pick before the Bears pick, but whatever.
