How is it different than reading one of his "columns" or listening to his show. It's just a different medium to share an opinion.

It's done in real time, which distracts from watching the subject of these thoughts. A column and show are also the product of, at least relative to instant analysis twitter, deeper consideration.

The comments don't disappear after the event you know? I read them this morning - so it didn't distract me from shit.

The person making them...who is supposedly providing an expert opinion which is why you are following him in the first place.

I don't follow anyone. I'm not on Twitter.

Edit: To be honest, I have no idea why I looked at Danny's account this morning.

So the Heat are sustaining excellance because they have had a couple winning seasons with Lebron, while winning 1 title? This is going to be a tough listen today.

I haven't listened to the whole discussion, but assuming the Heat beat the Pacers, three consecutive Finals appearances is pretty impressive. They've owned the East since 2010, and even if Wade slows down it's going to take a major tweak or two from the Bulls to prevent four straight EC championships for the Heat next year.

Love the sideswipe at NHL coaches who only give you banal and mundane quotes about energy and effort in their postgame pressers. Compared to the electric stream of consciousness riffing you get from goddamn NBA coaches . They give you stuff!!!

I don't know what Dan expected from a league where a concussion is listed as an "upper body injury" and torn ACLs, etc. are listed as "lower body injuries".

I guess that's one way to look at it. Another way would be to note that a team that played without its best guy all season and that had serious injuries to other key players during the playoffs, in addition to other guys puking into buckets during the series, gave the great Miami Heat everything they wanted.

Yup, I don't doubt for a minute that a depleted Bulls team gave Miami more trouble than expected. I'm no Heat fan, but two straight Finals appearances, plus three games away from a third, is somewhat a sustained period of excellence, in my opinion. They're 46-3 since the streak and if they win this year, we'll probably start asking if a win in 2014 means they're a dynasty.

I guess they're already "a dynasty", but I'd say this is a very weak era for the NBA. The fact that Chris Bosh is a likely Hall of Famer should be enough evidence of that.

A little bit better than the Cavs, Indiana and Knick dynasties.
