JORR- Don't misrepresent, my brother. I flipped the Sox up to the top deck of monitors after the top of the 4th. I had my two Hawk soundbytes already so enough time was spent listening to that often somnambulant crew.
Okay. I guess I misunderstood. It's okay to be a Cubs fan though. They're headed to the World Series in '15. Or '16. Or maybe '17.

As for the NFL game changing.... you better believe it did. Look at the NFL films video and all the arm/hand tackling. Butkus threw around white running backs like Green Bay's Donnie Anderson, Minnesota's Dave Osborn and Bill Brown. When the game went to astroturf in the '70s.... it did change dramatically. No more Walt Garrisons. Yes, there were a few....but the NFL got markedly faster. And better.
Of course the game has changed. That's why guys who couldn't carry Johnny Unitas' jock throw for more yardage than he could ever dream of. But the idea that a guy like Butkus who was bigger and faster than Ray Lewis was inferior to anyone is just silly. There are guys who play today who couldn't play then and guys who played then that couldn't play today. That has everything to do with rules and strategy and nothing to do with man evolving in 40 years.
