New golf-themed pub/restaurant in the City Gate complex on the corner of Route 59 and Ferry Rd. in Naperville.

Small place, but fantastic food and a good bar selection. I had multiple Bitter End's while Mrs. Ugie preferred their wine selection.

Also, their calendar of upcoming events are all structured around the PGA Tour schedule. :D

Here's my review: http://chicagoduffer.com/2013/05/10/chicago-golf-tap-in-pub-and-carvery/

It has couches all over the place for people to doze off while the tournament is on.

Sounds like you may have inadvertently discovered the waiting room for Hell.

If hell has good looking girls serving beer and golf on TV, sign me up.

Despite it being a Friday night, we were pleased to find the atmosphere very low-key and uncrowded. While this is surely due to the pub’s newness, the bar area is comfortable enough to keep the crowd at a minimum. You won’t have to wait long for a refill at this place.

I love going to bars/restaurants that are not crowded too. I especially love going to them when they go out of business also.

I detest "themed" restaurants and bars. They smack of the corporate mentality--ubiquitous in a pointlessly depressing show like Bar Rescue--that is waging war on the very concept of place itself. The need to "create" themed restaurants and bars is a symptom of the anonymous sterility in which much of America resides. If it's not Hell, it surely must be the prelude to it.

Aren't all restaurants themed? Isn't Smith and Wollensky themed like a steakhouse? Isn't White Castle themed like a fast food burger joint? Aren't all bars themed to an extent?

I think hell would be having a viewpoint like you on that subject, but like I said if there is golf on TV and cute girls bringing me beer then I guess I could live with being so damn cynical about everything. It will only feel like an eternity...

I prefer Medieval Times for my castle themed dining.

I'm not cynical about everything, but I do despise corporate sterility masked as a form of authenticity.

Restaurants that serve a particular kind of food--like hot dogs or Italian cuisine--are not commonly referred to as "themed" establishments; rather, a themed establishment in which the unifying idea of a place--like being in a rain forest--is more important than anything else, like the food. Themed establishments are selling a theme--a simulated "experience"--not food.

By the way, why do you treat every disagreement like someone is personally insulting you? You are consistently one of the most thin-skinned people on the board.
