I thought the Hawks would beat Detroit.

Was driving back home from college one summer on I-88. I was somewhere between Prophetstown and Sterling and I can see one of those unmarked state police cars but can still tell its a police car because of the radio equipment and whatnot all over it.

No one else is on the road and this guy was going exactly 65 miles an hour. I have no idea how long he's going to be on the road for and I get this idea in my head that the unwritten rules of the road will allow me to creep past him so long as I don't blow by him at like 90 or something. So I put my blinker on, get in the left lane and slowly overtake him at about 70 mph then signal back over into the right lane.

Cop flips his lights on and for an instant I start to wonder what the heck is going on, until I realize he intends to pull me over (seriously what about that unwritten code?!?). Cop gives me this look like I'm the biggest idiot on the planet and asks me what I thought I was doing. I think all I could muster was a half-hearted "I don't know".

Got off with just a warning but it's easily the dumbest (non drinking related) thing I've ever done.

I couldn't figure out the clock in my car. No matter how much I messed with it it always said AM, thought maybe there was 12/24 hr thing somewhere until I realized it said AM because I was listening to AM radio.

Answered a Voice Mail at work and started having a conversation with it
