I don't even remember much of these movies after these years...having only seen them once, i remember slightly recommending the first, slightly not recommending the second...and not having much anticipation for the third.

well, i guess this is the best one. i laughed out loud, zach galifinakis (sp) stole the show, and really...this was his movie. they gave him a lot of great screen time and there were even some sweet moments with him and the (former) baby from the second movie.

overall this felt more like an action comedy than even the first two did, and i suppose that's what these movies should be referred to as. the action here is good...john goodman could've been a funnier "villain" though. he really shines when he gets to be a quirky character. he was a bit of a waste. anybody could've played his character.

i enjoyed it. it's not great, none of them are...they always seem to have convenient plot resolutions and that takes away from some of the fun and imaginitive ways they could get themselves out of problems.

fortunately, no dan band, and no mike tyson though. they must've realized those guys had overstayed their welcome.

a pretty entertaining movie, if you've enjoyed the franchise.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

First one was really good.

Second one was stale and Ok at best.

Third looks dumb as hell and not funny.

I'm surprised you liked it W_Z. It seems like a movie that is cool to hate.

I really enjoyed it. The format change was much needed and worked though I liked the second one too.

Galifinakis does steal the show.

The GF was restless and saw it this weekend. She said "it wasn't very good...."

That's all I got.

I'm probably basing it on one movie you liked that won an Oscar and it looked like it was 2-3 hours of boring.

Probably. It's getting harder to track my broad generalizations based on small sample sizes.

This one abandoned the formula... does that make it better or worse than 2? Not sure, but there definitely weren't as many laugh out loud moments... more chuckles here and there. And it seemed like a buddy movie about Zach and Chow.

*EDIT* Was anyone else expecting a Tyson cameo?

it's OK, Brick, your neighbor's got you covered. 8)

i did also specify that "the hurt locker" isn't just a typical war film, and that's why it's important. and i still think it's a pretty great film. we don't get to see a lot of the iraq war in film like we did WWII and vietnam.

but i'm pretty sure the movie brick was referring to was "the artist".

Saw it last night. Didn't think it was worth the price of admission.

I'm sure it's a piece of shit money grab. I didn't think 2 was anything special, and the first one while I liked it was o-ver-rated!!

I don't think #1 is overrated. I loved it. #2, while the same formula, still elicited laughs and accomplished what a comedy should do. #3 had a different plot than the first two, but completely missed on the entertainment factor.

Don't get me wrong, the first one was hilarious. My overrated comment goes to the people that said it was the funniest movie ever and reinvented comedy.
