What are you talking about?

What is it about Wood's 1.0 Whip or Samardzija's 2.85 era makes you think they arent having good years respectively?

The numbers are close and neither of the Cub guys has missed a start

If you think there is a huge difference in the numbers, Im sorry, you're just wrong.

Here's an idea ...... if a person is arguing about numbers, POST THE FUCKING NUMBERS THEMSELVES, not one's opinion about them.

I love Franklin, but calling RPB the Frank of Cubs is just ignorant.

No, that's not what I said.

I said you could make the case they've been AS good or better.

But you dismissed it because you werent thinking and didnt know it was so close.

Im the one saying they've all been good. You're the one taking up for your guys here

Personally, I think Samardzija and Wood are having good years. About as good as Peavy and Sale if not better.

Im sorry you disagree or dont want to believe it, but dont accuse me of being a troll when its obviously a legitimate thought

let's look at WAR which benefits cubs higher IP:

sale and peav = 3.0
Smarj and wood = 2.8

Trust me, I looked at the stats before I said anything. the ERA+ numbers are hugely different.

That doesnt benefit the Cubs. Someone had to pitch those games for the White Sox. They didnt get those days off.

You're right, that 0.2 difference in WAR is HUGE. It was ridiculous of me to try and compare.

Wood (3.98) and Samardzija (3.13) have been terrible and Sale (3.32) and Peavy (3.49) have been untouchable.

Look, you could have said, "you know surprisingly, Smarja and Wood are pitching almost as well as Peavy and Sale."

But you chose to say, "the argument could be made that they are better."

This was on top of the stuff TP pointed out earlier. There wasalso some rizzo man-love in the past couple of days too.

Combined WHIP

Cubs - 2.04
Sox - 1.96

What a gap!

Hey numbnuts --- newsflash: the AL isn't the better league anymore.

Oh, but I meant the pitchers bat ....

Again, you're citing un-cited "figures" and then creating a half-assed argument based on vapor.

Just give it a rest already.

We are talking specifically this year. I thought that was clear.

TP was joking, and I even pointed out I was joking with that post shortly after.

The Rizzo man love is more of your imagination.

Unless you consider me agreeing with a Sox fan that Rizzo is only "a 5 hitter on a good team" as manlove, but that wouldnt make much sense would it?

My guess is you read that thread and got upset that I didnt agree that Santiago and Quintana are great building blocks.

Sorry but when you describe a guy with Plus control....he has to have control

Defensive independent ERA indicates Samardzija is the best of the bunch.

But thats just trolling...

Oh and BTW, Peavy has pitched against offensive Juggernauts like The Marlins, The Mets, and the Twins (twice)

6 of Peavy's 9 starts have been agaisnt teams in the bottom 7 in OPS

So you can throw the league differential out the window

It would be nice if I didn't have to beat off five Cubs fans all by myself!

Shit I never knew RPB and BRick were the same guy.

You implied they were better. I called you Frank. You said they had similar numbers. I said fine. You win.

No, sorry you dont get to play "I dont care" card now that I just obliterated the whole league differential basis of your argument.

Again, I said a case could be made and it definitely could. That's it. Just dont call it trolling.

Peace

look, your guy wood has faced two above average teams all year ATL and CIN (2X). this shit goes both ways. I'm saying relative to league numbers, there is a bigger gap in performance. league OPS and ERA is higher in the AL. that is the fact. I don't know which league is "better."

I really don't care, that is not an act. How many arguments do I get in here? Not many. you just seemed to be on a roll trying to tweak sox fans, which is not a bad thing. perhaps I was mistaken.

PEACE.

Swing and a miss

I said he started his career on a hall of fame pace, which he did, hitting wise especially considering his age.

He has tapered off, but you will not find many non hall of famers who had 500 hits at age 22
