I had a tough time getting fitted at some places but Jos A. Bank had what I needed. The are always running some kind of buy 1 suit get the 2nd for half off thing as well.

Their staff was very helpful.

Jos A Bank always is just giving away stuff. Buy one suit, get 3 shirts, 2 pants, 27 ties, and a sheep for free.

This...except for the sheep...must be an Indiana thing.

My suit from there is really nice.

Last suit I purchased was at Men's Wearhouse. No compaints at all. Of course I only wear a suit
once every few years.

Yeah, but down there you don't need to buy a suit to get a date with your sister.

Sarar in the Aurora outlet mall. I love that place, go in and tell them you want 3 suits for a grand, and you'll get some quality stuff. Much better than JAB, etc.

I'm not going to bigfan everyone else's choice for shopping.

I go to Brooks Brothers. A guy I know who only wears custom made suits told me that place is for short, fat guys in their 50s. I am not in my 50s.

Pro Tip: If you ever find yourself in need of a suit at the last minute for a one time event. Go to Kohls or a store like that. Buy the suit and return it.

They have decent enough stuff where you can look good and you're basically renting the suit for 0 dollars.

As far as buying suits, I think with something like that you should really research and hit the sales. You can probably get real good deals if you shop around.

Got a rather nice one a few months back. Pretty short notice, too...

Another vote for K&G.

In fact, if you watched my movie Too Late, the character who plays Randolph is in my Sean John suit that I picked up from them.

Men's Warehouse has been my go-to. Always very helpful and they seem to always have a buy-1-get-1 promotion running.

Jos A. Bank is also solid, but I've just preferred MW over the years.

I think those Buy 1 Get 1 promotions are a crock of shit. They probably just jack up the prices on everything and then call it Buy 1 Get 1. I bought two suits there during one of those promotions and I felt like I was being robbed after I walked out the door. I didn't have much of a choice though because I needed a suit in like two days, so I had to buy.

I wouldn't have bought it if it said "Sean John" all over it....I know I'm getting old because I've pretty much given away any clothes that have logo's on them, except for the occasional Polo or Lacoste.

Logos are for teenagers.

Honestly, what you want is timeless cut and material (top tier, Brooks Brothers, Armani, etc) and a good taylor who knows your dimensions

In your case from what you have described IMU, the MW and K&G suggestions are good.

I've had good luck with Macy's, not super discount, but you won't spend hours digging through the rack and it's still pretty reasonable.

I'm fairly certain all the places mentioned have tailoring.. with the exception of the discount stores

The suit I just bought has a cobra on the back. It's a tasteful cobra though, so it's cool...

and when you walk into a room some other guy will be wearing an identical suit to whatever you buy, if that kind of thing matters to you...on the other hand there are only so many variations on a dark, pinstripe that can be created.
