Well, we knew we weren't going to win every one of these. I guess the Cubs can have it in our rebuilding year.

Like The Nature Boy said, "to be the champion, you got to beat the champion."

The Cup only exchanges hands if you WIN the series...and you can be sure JR will get that rain game in to squeeze out the extra attendance. And you can book Peavy beating his Wood today in a battle for who is the second best pitcher in Chicago behind Sale.

Way too many ANDS for a threatening statement. You sound like Lupus from Bad News Bears.

The pressure of the Cup is making you goofy.

I thought I read someone arguing that Wood was as good a #2 as Peavy.. :|

Let's see what develops here. Beautiful day for a game

Except that Peavy does not have the added benefit of getting almost a free out every time the lineup turns over.

No he just has the benefit of having 6 of his 9 starts against teams ranked 25th or lower in offense

Mets (28)
Twins (26)
Nationals (27)
Marlins (30)
Royals (25)

And, as an astute baseball observer like yourself will notice, three of those teams dont use the DH

He's been getting good results... .186 BABIP and 83% strand rate suggest that will not continue.

The Marlins do in AL Parks.

And Wood's wins have come against the Rockies (8), Marlins (30), Pirates (19), and Cardinals (9) (OPS ranks in). Not exactly a murderers row he's gotten wins agains.

Oh, and the Reds, who are #1 in the NL in OPS (7th in MLB) have beat the shit out of him this year...twice.

I'll take Peavy, you can have Wood.

So, you concede Peavy has had an easier road and your previous statement about him having it tougher was wrong

Having to pitch to a pitcher 2-3 times a game makes it easier for Wood, not Peavy.

Right.

So my statement that you said "Peavy had it harder" is correct.

And that assertion is completely wrong, btw.

You cant go to the Tougher competition card as much as you do, and then not stand behind it when the facts clearly show YOUR guy has had easier competition.

Travis Wood has had better competition than Peavy. That is fact.

The Cubs pitchers hit better than the regular everyday players.

Am I allowed to say anything here today? I don't want to have hatchet whining that the Cub fans are ganging up on him again (Chris Jericho style).

I like both teams, but I am more of a Cub fan. I cheer for the Sox anytime they are not playing the Cubs.
